Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes, IMEI, device ownership flag, FED, etc. are stored in Sprint DMD.

They can whitelist/add the IMEI of any unlocked devices. You do your own firmware flashing. I put the AT&T S7E unlocked (from the Walmart deal) on my wife's account. I have a Verizon S8+ on my account. A few others have also managed to add the Verizon Note 5 (3G only) and T-Mobile/AT&T/Verizon S7/S8 to their accounts. May take several calls (and some luck) because not all Sprint reps know how to do it. Don't mention AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon, just say unlocked to the Sprint reps. For whitelisting/adding Apple IMEI, they have a separate tool called DNA2.

Apple GSX servers now interact with Sprint DMD to verify FED. Unlockers are more than happy to comply with the FED requirement because they make extra $$$ from "cleaning" FED.

For activating any device on the Sprint network (Sprint and Sprint MVNO), yes, two issues - device ownership flag and FED. Both must be satisfied if you are moving a device from Sprint MVNO to Sprint or from Sprint MVNO 1 to Sprint MVNO 2. Many people have reported that they change the device ownership flag but the device still fails FED and can't be activated; that is because the device ownership flag can be changed anytime even though the device fails FED, which is a loophole that Sprint needs to fix.

Since your Boost Moto E was able to activate on RP, Ting, and Tello, it's most likely already cleared the FED due to another loophole mentioned on the RP threads. Just ask Sprint to change the PLBL flag to SPCS.

Yes, you can do that.

If you cancel within 14 days, you pay only for the cost of the iPhone 8 (i.e., the remaining balance of the iPhone 8 installments will due). Sprint will refund all surcharges, fees, etc.

My bad, it was 10/1/2017 on the original promo, but then Sprint extended the promo, and it still says 10/1/2017 and 120 days on the website. I am not sure which is correct

Glad to help

Most Sprint reps are clueless. You have to keep calling until you get someone who knows how to do it. If they have created a ClickIT ticket, give them some time and the chance to work on it and hope someone who knows how to do it sees and takes care of your ticket. Don't create multiple tickets because that will only complicate things and confuse them even more.

Regarding FED, please check your Boost iP6 IMEI on Ting BYOD, Tello BYOD, and Swappa IMEI checker; and let me what messages do you see?
Verizon iP6 works.

Yes, it must be deactivated and removed from any account.

Some Verizon phones are eligible. What Verizon phones (model number/part number) do you have?

Yes it works. Special edition/open market means unlocked.

You can have different plans on the same account. Each plan has its own plan code and is billed accordingly. I have mentioned this many times.
Does flashing my phone will void the warranty ??

Bought it when boost was selling it for 200 bucks. Never really intended to use boost but get a cheap iPhone for my parents. Paid an ebay seller 35 bucks to unlock it. After unlocking popped a tmobile sim and it has been working since...
So I'm not an expert, but I paid for an unlock for my Boost iPhone SE via eBay as well. It's my understanding that it doesn't clean it with Sprint - it's still "unpaid bills"... just allows you to use it on like T-Mobile. AFAIK, still need to pay for a year of service or whatever it is for Boost to unlock for Sprint or other Sprint MVNOs

They finally fixed my plan to reflect the $5 per month for unlimited, but they billed me for $90 for 2 lines ($45 each for the 2gb plan)

Does this go away or am I stuck paying the $90?

Please help...I signed up for a $45 monthly plan with Sprint. Do I have to port my new number out to H20, T-mobile, etc? My goal is to cancel the sprint account completely and get all the fees credited back (within 14 days), and use this phone for the free 1 year BYOD plan (under spouse's ssn if needed). I do not need the existing number.

Is it essential to port out before calling for cancelling?

Just port out. Buy a T-mobile sim from Amazon, call T-mobile prepaid. Tell them you want to transfer your sprint number over to T-mobile prepaid, tell them you want the $3 a month plan and you'll fund it later. The phone will be instantly cancelled from Sprint. And don't worry the phone will not be tied to T-mobile. in fact, just throw away the SIM. You don't even need a physical sim you just need the SIM card number to do this. After you port out you're free to do whatever you want with the phone - put it on a carrier of your choice or sell it!

How - I mean at Sprint.com or via Calling ? And won't it mess up the deal and start billing me 60$/month?

I have iPhone 5 that is in-eligible and I think (my) promo will end I guess if I swap to that phone

Thanks

Question - I have a working Sprint Note 2.

Could I switch my existing "Free" line to the Note 2 and reuse the Verizon iPhone 6s that I originally used to open the first line to add a second line?

Anyone used a phone's IMEI to open an account, switched phones, and then used the original phone again for a second line?

Looks like Freedompop global GSM sim is eligible.

I tried to sign up a few days ago, and there was an error with my credit card so it didn't go through. I then had to buy a Sprint Tablet to use the hotspot feature(and it's $25 a month cheaper than T-Mobile hotspot) so when I tried to redo it said I was ineligible since I was no longer a new customer.

I called the 8777 number and the service rep gave it too me after saying that I had tried to sign up online earlier but there was an error. I asked if Freedompop was eligible and she said it was. Only hick up was when she asked for Pin and Account, but since I used a name.name@ adress(the period to not sign up with a new email) I can't access the account through the web browser, only the Freedompop app, but she looked into it on her end and said the account is the EDIT: phone number and pin is last 4 digits of number.

Global GSM is $5 at Best Buy and I'm sure the domestic $1 sims will also work as long as it's an ATT or T-Mobile number. I had also checked the online eligibility and it said my Tracfone numbers were also eligible. That will cost you a $1 for 3 sims 2 GSM one CDMA, then just activate online and add the $9.99 card and that looks like another way.

I'm activating a iPhone 5c I had on Virgin Mobile but got unlocked. When phone was with Virgin it was ineligible, but when I swapped the iPhone out and activated it on Tracfone GSM sim, it became eligible.

I'll let you know in a few days if the Sprint Sim comes in the mail and if it activates ok. Wish me luck!

Yes it works. I used Nexus 6 to open new line. Then swapped device to galaxy s4. Use Nexus 6 again to add new line.
