Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Can you easily change the number (port in your old number) after you establish a new line?

Fellow SDers, SIMOLW506C works with Moto G5 plus - I just added a line successfully.
We knew that, but thank you for the clarification. Otherwise referred to as the 'universal sim'.

Successfully ported from Google Voice to this plan today. Got a free SIM (446c for G5 Plus) from the local Sprint corporate store. Called the number from Wiki and got everything set up within 30 to 45 minutes. Porting took a few calls, but eventually got settled. Can receive and make calls, but SMS is still processing.

So I finally got the phone, sim, plan active and number ported. Let me outline the massively convoluted approach it took to get it done.

Bought the E4 via BBY deal. Got the phone and needed a sim card. Saw that I needed a "Special" Sim card (SIMGLW416Q). I went to about 4 different corporate and noncorporate stores to get it and none of them had it or would sell it to me. Finally the last corporate store I went to said he looked it up and it wasn't the 416q, but the 506c....so I thought wth and bought it. But it was the wrong sim card (duh). So I called sprint's number and they said they would send me the correct sim card - which they DID NOT. Finally I followed garymeter48's advice and bought the darned sim from BBY -- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost...Id=5887020 -- Get the boost mobile one that has three sim cards (It has 416q, 506c and 506TQ). Also, they had trouble ringing it up, so they finally put a bunch of 0's in the IMEI (which was fine). Then I set up the account (which took several phone calls bc the credit check didn't work out). After the account was set up, they couldn't port the ATT gophone number. After several calls back and forth, I called 1-888-898-7685 - and I was told there was no pin for the gophone (sprint needs to leave that blank) and they could put whatever 4 numbers for the SSN. Finally it has worked out - hopefully after all this the billing ends up being correct.

TL;DR Re: Moto E4
1) get the sim card from BBY (using boost mobile kit which contains the 416q sim, 506c sim, and 506tq sim)
2) Do not go to sprint store.
3) for gophone transfer - pin is blank, they use name and phone number. SSN can be any 4 digits.

Hope this helps at least one of you.

Update on the phone swap Sprint hell I just went though:
>wife breaks screen on iPhone 2 weeks into new service
>no device protection
>have another iPhone, unlocked (Verizon), same exact model, try swapping sims -> locks the sim.
>try multiple thoughts/processes/interactions with Sprint, nothing works.

!!WHAT WORKED!!
>Get a new SIM from a Sprint corporate store (Repair store, they should give it to you free)
>Know your account PIN
>Call 888-211-4727, work through phone tree to the "swap phone" option, follow instructions, fails and transfers you to a rep.
>Rep will verify account pin and phone number you are working with.
>Give them the replacement phone's IMEI #
>REMAIN CALM, KIND AND DIRECT FROM THIS POINT ON
>They will question you where the phone came from "Is this a Sprint phone?", Insist this is an unlocked phone. DO NOT TELL THEM IT IS ANYTHING ELSE. Repeat "This is an unlocked phone" until they go to activate the device at a supervisor station.
>They will come back saying you need to visit a Sprint corporate store to obtain a new SIM, tell them you already have a new SIM from the store, they will ask you for the ICCID # (20-digit) off the new SIM. (give it to them, make sure they have it correct).
>Another hold to activate at supervisor station
>At this point they should have you install the new SIM, power the device on and enter a carrier update code in the keypad, after which the phone should work.

Lessons learned:
1. Phone reps are trying to upsell and not at all helpful unless you know exactly what you need to do.
2. This plan is a scarlet letter. Seriously, every rep I talked to (phone, chat and in retail and corporate stores) told me they cannot touch anything on the account. The corporate store rep specifically said "What do you expect? Its free!"
3. Contrary to my previous experience with Sprint, they now tie the SIM ICCID to the phone IMEI to the phone number and then the account number. They cannot/will not simply swap SIMs to ANY other device, you MUST get a new SIM.

I have an existing iPhone 7 that's unlocked and had a sprint sim and is on a sprint MVNO I'm going to get the flag flipped & try to activate this phone using a T-Mobile prepaid line. Can I reuse my existing sprint SIM card (it has only ever been on sprint MVNOs). Thanks!

What issues did you have with credit check? Did you need to have the E4 added to sprints database?

just this afternoon i spoke to a rep, was tying to close one of my 5 free lines, she asked me why, i told her i needed the phone for something else. she asked me if i have another unlocked phone to transfer my number because she did not want me to waste the free line. so i transferred the sim, from a Moto X Pure to a Nexus 5 X. she was on the phone with me the whole time, took like 5 minutes including phone boot. phone rep was calm and pleasant, and so was i.

Sprint messed up the number porting part. I entered in all the account information for my T-Mobile (prepaid) number, and they ended up porting my Simple Mobile (prepaid) number. I'm not sure how that happened. My T-Mobile and Simple Mobile didn't share the same account information.

The other day, I called Sprint telesales to add a line to my 1 Year Free plan, and Sprint let me port in my AT&T Prepaid (GoPhone) number. The rep asked if the number was postpaid or prepaid. I told her prepaid, and it still went through.
