Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

ok, and can you do it if you are an existing Sprint customer (some of us who bought the SE, 6S, 7, etc.)? Or you have to close the current account and only then be eligible for this offer? If need to close, how many days should you wait before you sign up?

Also, any update on H2O port ins?

No. If it is the unlocked S8+, you can activate it just fine. But you will need to bring a qualifying phone number over to qualify.
Hey, any idea if a moto e 2015 used on Sprint then moved to Ting will not be activated on a post paid Sprint line (it was a pre paid phone)?

The store was unable to add the moto e phone to a friends existing paid (not this free offer) post paid account. Was it because it was pre paid phone or was it because of ting flag?

Thanks!

I don't recall seeing anyone that was able to sign up for free plan after being sprint customer, I could be wrong. There was someone on another thread asked to cancel paid plan and got put on the free plan.

I used spouses ssn to sign up for free plan.

One of my friends is looking to port from T-Mobile. But he has iPhone7 that he has paid off and got it unlocked. However on Sprint site it says, phone is reported lost / stolen and can't be activated. Also looking at wiki it only says verizon iPhone7 are allowed. I thought iPhone7 were universal phoones.

Can anyone confirm, if they were able to activate iPhone7 from T-mobile using Sprint SIM?

Any help appreciated.

I think the whole idea is to get people switch from another carrier to Sprint. They are assuming that people are bringing their main line. But you can bring any line though.

No. Sprint will not unlock your phone. Your friend need to call T-MOBILE to unlock it. You can then try to activate at Sprint.
I realize he will need to unlock the phone.
However, my concern is that the T-Mobile iPhone 6 (not 6s) will not work on Sprint and to confirm that after unlocking it would be a suitable candidate for this promotion without any glaring technical or administrative obstacles to clear?

No, universality ended with iPhone 6. The 7 has 2 variants. You can check out GSM arena for more info.

The iPhone 6 is on Sprint list as a compatible device, but to activate it is another problem. You can go to the deal link and try it. I have Nexus 6 which should work, but when I put in my IMEI it said not eligible. It won't hurt to try.

If your friend bought iPhone 7 from T-Mobile it has intel chip is only GSM. The other variant had Qualcomm chip good for GSM and CDMA.

Lost/Stolen is a non-starter and can't be activated. But no, the iPhone 7 is not a universal phone. This Forbes article lays it out pretty well. [forbes.com] iPhone 7 devices that started their lives as AT&T or T-Mobile devices have the Intel chipset, which doesn't support CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint. This isn't just an activation policy restriction, like so many compatibility issues on the iPhone.

The opposite is true for the Qualcomm iPhone 7 devices. An unlocked Sprint or Verizon iPhone 7 will work great on both AT&T and T-Mobile.

In the time it took you to read over 100+ pages you could have easily just searched for those phones online and found it yourself. There are only 26 approved phones, and you could easily disregard any of the iphones or samsung galaxies, as they clearly wouldn't be the cheapest. That's only 13 phones you needed to check the price on.
Back in my day, slickdeals was about helping other people get slick deals, not telling them to Google stuff. I've helped plenty of people get plenty of deals. Wink

That said it looks like the Moto E4 is the best deal around, I'm just hoping someone can explain the exact steps if I head down to Best Buy, from A-Z to get this Sprint plan working.

So far I've seen a dozen posts about getting sim cards, different ones working, having to call in, having things shipped, having things activated on other carriers, having things checked with Ting, but nobody (as far as I've seen), has laid out the steps to walk into a Best Buy, and come out with the correct setup.

That's all I'm asking for.

Edit: Can I purchase the $99 Moto E4 on Amazon with Ads, and have it activated with this sprint deal? Can anyone walk me through how this would work? I have a Ting sim card laying around.

It will work but no band 41 so depending on your area will have reduced lte speeds.
