Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

For those who picked up sim cards at sprint stores how much were they charging you?

I checked a couple stores and the only one who would sell me a sim wanted 10 bucks even though they're only $2.99 on the website. I know you can get them at BB but would be nice if you could get them at the sprint store for cheaper in case BB is out.

Hi guys,

My wife is on H2O Wireless and hates it. I just thought of switching her to Sprint on this offer.
She has unlocked ex-AT&T iPhone 6S which should be working with Sprint as far as I understand.
I see the summary post mentions H2O is eligible for the offer despite being post-paid. Is it still the case? I know it might be buried somewhere in the thread but it's unrealistic at this point to read through 437 pages.

Also are there any issues with porting from H2O?

Finally I heard somewhere it might be possible to use this offer and still get some AA miles - is it the case? I thought getting AA miles would require signing up via a different landing page?

Thank you!

Back in my day, slickdeals was about helping other people get slick deals, not telling them to Google stuff. I've helped plenty of people get plenty of deals.

That said it looks like the Moto E4 is the best deal around, I'm just hoping someone can explain the exact steps if I head down to Best Buy, from A-Z to get this Sprint plan working.

So far I've seen a dozen posts about getting sim cards, different ones working, having to call in, having things shipped, having things activated on other carriers, having things checked with Ting, but nobody (as far as I've seen), has laid out the steps to walk into a Best Buy, and come out with the correct setup.

That's all I'm asking for.

Edit: Can I purchase the $99 Moto E4 on Amazon with Ads, and have it activated with this sprint deal? Can anyone walk me through how this would work? I have a Ting sim card laying around.

Hello,

For BYOD 1 year free plan, Moto E4 will work. Moto E4 phones need ISIM cards (416Q sim card). Your ting simcard will not work with Moto E4, it may work with other phones. This is the most important part.

As long as you have the right phone, the right sim, and wireless number to port in, you may call the dedicated Sprint Telesales @ 866-782-8777. Try to finish set up your account in one call if possible. Good luck!

Ok so what is the cheapest way to get "wireless number to port in".

I really do appreciate the help, but this thread feels like pulling teeth.

I don't understand why it's so hard for someone to say:

A) Walk into BestBuy and purchase X with Y plan for $ZZ.ZZ + Tax
B) Call Sprint to order M sim card but have it picked up for $WW at location
C) Call Z Number and ask them to transfer your account.

This whole process seems like 3-5 steps, but I can't seem to get a straight answer of how much I'll be paying to who and where.

I'm just going to keep my Freedompop phones, they seem easier to understand than this mess. Peace

OK, just deactivated one of my Moto-E (2nd Gen) from Tello service (previously on R+).

Sprint Check your eligibility, gave the message:
"Sorry, but this device can't be activated with Sprint service. Try another device or shop for a new one."

Just wonder if anyone succeed to use Moto-E (2nd Gen) for this Sprint BYOD?
What should I do? Frown

I'm thinking about go & get a BOYD SIM from Sprint B&M store...will it work ???

from the wiki:

Google Voice Instructions

I believe others are having luck by following these instructions:

Go to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock and unlock your Google Voice number, which will cost $3 and is payable online by card
Set a voicemail pin here https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#...ilsettings - you will need this pin in order to finish the porting

Good luck, I haven't personally verified this but others in the thread seem to be having luck

If you've never set your pin or if you want to try to change it, this worked for me:

Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

And

PORTING ISSUES

Beware if the port process does not go perfectly, as you will have NO WAY to resolve it. An email saying things were Successful, DOES NOT MEAN it was successful. You will only know once you insert your SIM card and it is unable to connect to a network. if you get that message, essentially you are fukked. You will have wasted money on a SIM/shipping, possibly screwed up your old service by issuing a port request, wasted a hard credit pull, and likely will have to fight auto bill issues in the future.

If your phone number doesn't transfer correctly, you will will NOT be able to setup an account. Calling Sprint (and being transferred to (3-4) other departments) will not help. At this point I have been asked to go to a STORE. Whats the chances things will go correctly there?! None.

If the number has NOT ported in the time telesales mentioned, call 888-876-8381
Make sure the account name matches where your porting from, otherwise, porting will fail and you will need to tell Sprint the name that matches the account. - swammer

Direct number to Sprint's Porting Department: (877) 503-3269 --bngguy

Activation problems with Sprint card? It's either a porting delay or if not try putting your Sprint sim and dialing ##8732834# - wait a bit then reboot. Phone rep told me this re-activates the phone or something to that effect

Checked my iPhone SE (A1662) bought from Apple and the phone number from MintSim via the promo link, and it told me my phone was eligible. So I ordered the sim card online, and activated it online. Everything was smooth, it told me my account had been created, and the plan was right.

After half an hour, I inserted the sim card, turned on my phone, tried ##UPDATE#, message popped up said "update failed" and the phone got no service. I checked the port status (https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml), the status was "Congratulations, your number transfer is complete. If your phone is not working, please turn it off and back on.", called 866-437-1818, the system told me the number was already an active sprint number. However, freecarrierlookup and other similar websites told me my number's carrier was still T-Mobile. Called CS, and they could not find my account using my phone no. or my SSN. My first thought was the porting process was still ongoing, but after 24h nothing has changed. The only good news is that I can still use the MintSim number using the old sim card.

Is there a way that one can tell whether or not a porting process has been initiated? Thanks.

It's no wonder they're giving away a year of their awful service, I don't think they'll last another year as is. This whole thing has been a giant joke/scam for me. Have spent the day chatting on the phone, online and in store getting nowhere. I passed eligibility and ordered 2 sims Sunday from Sprint. Received today and activated online fine and entered the correct porting details. Sprints port status websites states both numbers have been successfully ported when they haven't. At this point I'm cutting my losses at the SIM card purchases and wasted time. Those bastards send me a bill we gonna have problems. RIP Sprint, you dumb bastards did your selves in with years of idiotic mismanagement.

I agree completely. I have a nexus 5 that I'm paying for service because sprint is beyond incompetent. I'd rather pay for service than have sprint for free.
