Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks. I read somewhere that Sprint will lock the IMEI with their service and cannot be used with other carriers. So it's not true...right?
If your phone is unlocked for other carriers, Sprint can't lock it.

I think what you are thinking about is the ownership flag such that if you use the phone on Sprint postpaid it can't be used on Sprint prepaid or Sprint MVNOs without changing the ownership flag. That's different from locking a phone so that it can't be used on other carrier's networks. Sprint can't lock an unlocked phone.

I had opened a new line with eligible phone. Now can I use the sim in another phone which support sprint network?
If the new phone is compatible with the SIM you have you can log into your account and reassociate the SIM with the new phone. Or call/chat and have a rep do it.

If the SIM is not compatible with the new phone, then you need to get a compatible SIM for the new phone.

How do I get an older Verizon phone, such as an S4, on Sprint? I have periodically been told that it is possible, but that I just need to find the right rep. I tried to with my S5 repeatedly, and just gave up and traded my Verizon S5 for a Sprint S5 (in much worse condition). So how do I find this rep? Just keep trying? Luck? Any special dept.? Phone number with menu options? Thx.

Thanks everyone for all the good info. My wife and son have sprint, do y'all think there is still time to port out/back in under my new free plan? I've got 3 lines left on it, but not sure how long it would take to do something like sprint>tmo>sprint (especially if I want to be greedy and have tmo pay off my wife's phone) :o

read some more and from what I understand, if you have a Moto E4 and you have sprint send you a sim card, the cards they send you will not work. is this correct?

no matter what, you have to obtain a SIM for the E4 yourself?

You can switch to your Sprint Nexus 5 really quickly after activation. You'll need the correct SIM number for his iPhone, and the correct SIM number for your Nexus. You don't need to activate his phone before you switch to your Nexus 5.

That said, the Nexus 5 is eligible on its own -- why not just use that when you activate? All you'll need is the right SIM card.
Alright, that makes sense, but if the phone you're swapping to already has a used Sprint SIM card, can that be used? Or does it have to be a brand new one? Essentially if I don't have a new Nexus 5 compatible one on hand before 7/31, I'm screwed?

Also, the Sprint Nexus 5 shows as ineligible. As does my extra Tmobile Nexus. Otherwise I would have just used those.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Thanks LiterallyUnlimited.

Sprint's BYOD checker said 'device is reported lost/stolen'. Tthat misled me into trying to get 'lost/stolen' cleared. Wish they would say 'not eligible' or 'not compatible' instead of lost/stolen

Yes, Ting checker indicated clear for GSM.

You always come through clear reliable answers. worship With that, I'll give up spinning on ATT iphone 5S.

Quote from LiterallyUnlimited :
The AT&T 5S does not have the right radios to activate on Sprint. Also, when it clears the Ting checker, is that for CDMA or for GSM? It should clear for GSM, assuming it's unlocked, but not for CDMA.

I've called sprint and asked but they weren't very helpful. Any idea if I can activate a sprint s8 after I transfer over my iPhone and number? I am buying a friend's Sprint s8 but when I put in the imei on the sprint site it shows not eligible. Thanks for any advice.

If the s8 is active in sprint line it will show ineligible. Ask your friend to deactivate it by swapping in another sprint phone and see if it becomes eligible. Even if it is not eligible, you can most likely be able to swap it with iPhone after you open free plan.

After many run around, I am finally able to port over an ATT's SIM phone number from FreedomPop with a Sprint iPhone SE orphanage from Ring Plus.

This phone was locked to RingPlus when RP went Kaput.. Sprint Tech Support has to add
the IMEI to their "Inventory System" before their ordering dept is able to proceed.

Hope this info help some one... I was pulling my hair out... Smilie

I have a Galaxy S7 Edge (international version) and a Galaxy S5 (Verizon version) that I tried to sign up with. Both of the phones say they have been reported lost or stolen per Sprint's BYOD checker. I know that is not the case as I am the original owner.

Anyone have an experience or suggestions for how to get around this? Over chat, the CSR asked me to go to the store. I have not tried the store yet.
