I need to unlock my new 6s using the Verizon method.... but I don't know anyone with a Verizon postpaid acct, so I picked up a Verizon SIM from the Apple store today... if I stick that unactivated SIM into the iPhone and run the setup over wifi will it permanently unlock the phone? And, is there a way to know the SIM I was given is a prepaid Verizon SIM or postpaid Verizon SIM? All it says is BULKSIM4FF-A

sorry for my ignorance but any help is appreciated.

thanks

But it also says that for 7s+ but I checked mine on the sprint promo site and it was eligible. Thoughts?
First off, there is no iPhone 7s+ yet, that won't be released until September. You have an iPhone 7+.

Second, you bought your iPhone 7+ from Best Buy and so it was a SIM free model subject to the US Reseller Flex Policy. You used a Verizon postpaid SIM to unlock it. As far as Apple's database goes, it is a Verizon iPhone 7+.

Yes if the iP6s is the SIM free model subject to the US Reseller Flex Policy. Where did you buy the iPhone 6s from?

Apple stores only have Verizon postpaid SIMs.

I bought the phone from Walmart.. it was one of the ones they had clearanced out.. it was sim free and I was told by the store that it was unlocked,,, but the UPC on Brickseek lists is as a Straight talk iPhone,,, so I was confused about that part.... they ran it through WARP when they sold it to me and just grabbed a random ATT sim to process through WARP.

Regardless, Sprint iPhone 7+'s pass the eligibility checker, as well (as long as they aren't active on a Sprint line, of course). So he's fine either way.

I can't remember if there were any issues with the Straight Talk iPhone 6s. I don't think there were but I can't remember.

If you can't return it anyhow, might as well activate it with the Verizon SIM over WiFi. You can pay $1 for the GSX report off of ebay if you want to confirm it is unlocked.

Yes, the phone has the qualcomm chip so that is what matters.

Yeah, it must have been because it was an AT&T number. H2O is an AT&T MVNO.
No these guys ported out of sprint from the Best Buy sprint SE deal

I was talking about what I did, not what anyone else did. I was saying I must have had a problem because I was trying to port out from AT&T and H2O is an AT&T MVNO.

There is a sprint SE 32 GB for $4.16 month at Best Buy with new line. You also get $25 mobile rewards.

Another option is sprint Samsung galaxy J3 for $2.49 a month with $90 Best Buy gc and also qualifies for $25 Best Buy mobile rewards this is for upgrades only so you can upgrade the iPhone 7+ line it would free it for the free plan without having to port to h2o. Then after paying off dpp you can port out J3 to h2o.

Swap one of the iPhone that will be on the free plan with the J3 after it ported out and use the iPhone to add another line.

Im still within the return period... so I will try to unlock it tomorrow and then get this plan going... if it doesn't work, I will just return it I suppose.
