Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Damn, this has been a hassle.

Couldn't create a My Sprint account so wasn't able to try the referral just in case.

They made one for me and everything was fine till I added another line through the promo department. 2 initial yesterday and 1 today. All three phones work but the 3rd phone does not show in the devices section on My Sprint and is the only one that says an upgrade is available, which is wrong. It also says "this device is inactive" and doesn't show the plan details I'm under on the Sprint app.

Don't know if this is normal or what, but I'm afraid they put the 3rd line as something else... I did confirm a few times it was the free plan and he said yeah.

Update: First day unlocked iphone SE from Cricket says on the IMEI check for Sprint 1 year free check: Device reported lost and stolen. This was clearly false.

2nd day: Device cannot be activated. Called customer service. They couldn't add IMEI to whitelist. They say to go to a corporate Sprint store. I did and the employees looked like I had leprosy! Since it's an online promo only they could care less to help. Finally one employee tried to access some DNA tool and says it was down. What a hassle to try to get this promo. Well at least I tried. I'm giving up.
Try ting checker with find my iphone disabled. It doesn't list iphone SE but at least give it a try.

"In lieu of DNA2, if you have an unlocked iPhone 6/6+/6S/6S+ or a Qualcomm 7/7+ with Find My iPhone disabled, you can plug the IMEI into Ting's BYOD checker (ting.com/byod), and it will attempt to push the serial number to the Sprint database for you.

If the push is successful, you'll see that your unlocked iPhone will now be eligible for CDMA service, as well as Ting GSM. You will still need the ownership flag flipped (and I can still do that for you via Reddit). Once the flag is flipped, you should be good to activate on Sprint.

This isn't an exact science, and it won't always work. If it fails, you'll see that your phone can only get GSM service. To troubleshoot the issue further, you'll need to contact Sprint or your original carrier to get the phone unlocked.

Just confirmed with a rep via chat:

" Promotion pricing will be until 09/30/2018, but promotion can only be availed till 07/31/2017."

Not sure about the offer being extended to August data points, but this rep says you have to apply before 7/31/17, and the benefit will be extended until 9/30/18.

The rep also forwarded a message for the FAQ section at the bottom of the page to be fixed to read 9/30/18 instead of 7/31/18.

Sprint. So @!#%@ incompetent. Talked to 4-5 people, customer care, tech supports, even instore, all said they'd help and a few said it'd just take a few days... never did get my Verizon iphone SE to activate. Let alone have a single one of them actually know what the problem was. Though I've heard here in this thread that it just needs to be 'whitelisted' apparently that's something most Sprint employees can't or won't do? Whatever.

NOW however, I get a letter claiming they can't approve my financial application?? A month after signing up supposedly my application is somehow incomplete. I call them up and what do they tell me? I have to go into a Sprint store with two forms of ID to prove who I am!?! WTF is wrong with this company? It's not like I'm new to Sprint either. I was a Sprint customer just over 3 years ago. Same name, same address, same home phone number... but for some reason these jackasses need me to waste my time and wait in line at their store to prove who I am for what's essentially a 'free' plan!!!!!
To top that off, when I'm talking to their financial people I demanded (in a polite manner) to know why this was required. Why they needed me to waste my time when I'm not leasing a phone or signing up for a contract or anything. What exactly was wrong with my application that they needed this of me. The financial services rep I'm talking to of course has no clue why it might be required... so he transfers me. Someone else picks up a minute later, says 'hello' in an annoyed and rather rude way, and then IMMEDIATELY hangs up as I respond 'yes, hello'.
Again, WTF is wrong with this company!

PS. Even though I said I didn't want it, and removed the service online the day after signing up, I'm still being charged $13 for device protection on the iphone SE that hasn't been activated for this past month.

Store won't help you unless you're signing up regular plan with them. They don't get commission from this free offer.

Yes, to get this Sprint BYOD Free 1 year service deal is more pain than a root-canal procedure...!!!

I got 2 new unlocked Moto-E4s from BB & 2 BYOD SIMs...ordered on the phone from Sprint BYOD promotion team. However, it took me almost 3 days (& almost 10 CSRs, yeah...9 CSRs to be exact).

Believe it or not...!!! I still haven't had my 1st Moto-E4 activated. (Well, my main issue is from the f!ck#ng LycaMobile port-out process. If anyone has been on LycaMobile, pls correct me. I was so frustrates enough to pull the FCC site up & filing a complaint against LycaMobile on the charge of: Withholding the customer port-out info.)

My patience is running out...

I'm thinking about return these 2 Moto-E4s & all 2 SIMs.
Let Sprint & its incompetent management enjoy the bankruptcy protection moment (which could be on the horizon) !!!

I guess I'm so lucky to get everything done within a little bit over and hour. My apple store iphone was on Ringplus, other sprint MVNOs, then Verizon. It showed ineligible online. I called them and got a very knowledgeable rep who managed to get someone to put the IMEI on the list and continued the process. My line was ported in less than an hour after. My first time with Sprint and I'm quite impressed because I have seen so many complaints.

BB charges a restocking fee, I'd finish the port.

I signed up yesterday and I got promotion up to 7/31/18. I'm sure they will extend it. What's the point of extended benefit to 9/30/18 for the last 4 days of sign up? Also rep told me they extended it to 8/31 to sign up when I called them back asking more questions.
