Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

My Sprint (Referal?) 50$ Visa Card arrived today in mail. I got it for signuping for free plan under existing paid Sprint customer. I used it to reload Amazon.com, could add whole 50$.

Let me know if someone wants pics or something

Yes, the Boost sim card kit will work. I activated my Moto E4 using that kit.
Thank you for your response, I am running into a small problem though. When trying to sign up, it looks like they are forcing me to add a sim card to my cart. Is there another way around this?

You mean the discount is extended, correct? NOT today's deadline to sign up.
The first person I spoke to said that it was extended. The 2nd person I just spoke to said it is not extended. So I am not sure.

Call the 800 number, mention you have your own Sprint sim, and they will sign you up for this promo. Worked for me.

Around 6/19 ordered Sprint SIM, plus signed up on sprint referral link

On 6/22 received SIM and activated/pushed through the FreedomPop port

For me too, it INSISTS on sending login code via SMS to phone. I have a placeholder phone so I have to borrow it, swap SIMS, initialize, read code, enter and login.... and then reverse the whole process.

Sprint states you can receive the code by SMS or email. In account Preferences I changed that to 'send email' yet it defaults back to SMS.
Yea! what a PITA. I wish there was a way to force it to email the code or forward the SMS to email.

Please post if you find a solution.

Every time I log into my sprint account online I get this message:
"We've upgraded our security"
"Step 2: Retrieve the code we just sent. Check your messaging or email Ha ha app and enter the code in the field below."
They text a code to my phone I have to enter before I can access my account, it's a real PITA. Anyone else experiencing this??

How were you able to sign up for the free Sprint offer when one of the requirements is to port in from AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile (or affiliates)?

He meant this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost-mobile-tri-branded-sim-card-activation-kit/5887020.p?skuId=5887020

Boost tri banded SIM instead of buying SIM from Sprint.com

Boost is MNVO or something under sprint so, same SIM can used for sign up under Sprint, Virgin Mobile, Boost

But yeah you are correct, you need to port a number in. I ported one from Google voice and one from Freedompop ( I meant they taking any non sprint SIM number, so Boost/Virgin/Ting/Tello/Freedompop CDMA Mobile number won't qualify, sorry for confusion)

Thanks for the quick response as I'm having difficulty porting in a iPhone 6s from Tello. I was told Tello belongs to Sprint and that won't work.

On another note, FreedomPop (AT&T) said it would be 2-3 days for them to provide my account # and password, much faster answer if I wanted to pay $5.99 shake head

Correct. You need to port out of Tello to another non-Sprint provider then port into Sprint.

Yes you need to port in, but the SIM card is an additional factor ...whatever phone you bring over to Sprint needs a Sprint SIM card. The Boost sim card kit is a reliably fast way to obtain a SIM, especially now as the deadline approaches. You need the SIM because when you sign up Sprint needs to record the SIM card number and mate it to your phone and account.

FYI, I had Cricket (uses ATT network) and bought a $99 price matched Moto E4 @ BestBuy and also bought the Boost Sim card kit there, I purchased it on Saturday.
Today I signed up for the BYOD over the phone. Phone service is now activated and everything is working smoothly so far in the 1.5 hours since I signed up. I already see that the cell reception in my apartment is better with Sprint + Moto E4 vs. Cricket + older Moto G: the latter would often have drop outs in my apartment ... it even occurred while on phone with Sprint to process the order. Time will tell how reliable the Sprint network is overall in NYC.

What a beast of a thread.
Thanks to everyone who lent a hand to get wiggle the best deal and get technicalities ironed out!

Mine was also FreedomPop AT&T base LTE SIM, after port out they gave me another number (that account never closed after portout lol)

But see it was long ago, maybe they changed now? Worth a shot maybe?

Just got off a chat with CS. They won't let me activate my Nexus 5. They say it's because i am porting a number in that it's on the device. It's a GSM phone the number is on the sim not the device. So once again. Sprint stinks. Every time i consider trying them out again they remind me why i left 5 years ago.
