Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

i agree with most of what u said...but why is below relevant ?

for example , i have a recently purchased lg g6 , post paid, never on any mvno, from best buy, at discounted price ($120) , fully paid off
SOME Best Buy deals involve Sprint-sponsored financing or discounting that includes registration with Sprint under a regular plan as a condition of sale, and that also forbids combining with other Sprint offers. I see reports that some such phones are being rejected by Sprint for the free one-year BYOD offer, at least initially.

As long as it is just a regular Best Buy deal, a simple Best Buy discount off list price should be absolutely fine. I revised the wording to clarify.

However that is certainly an extremely low price, not that that is a reliable indicator.

If there is no language in the sale indicating that it is conditional on activation on Sprint and that it cannot be combined with other Sprint offers, then I think it should go through fine.

If there is such wording, I am just saying I do not know either way in that case. If it fails the eligibility web page, you might have to fight for it or possibly try swapping it on.

Darn darn darn. I was afraid that would be the case. That would appear to mean there is no way for early takers up of this offer to extend their end-dates to 9/30/2018 (short of having a friend or relative open an account).

How is sprint vs t-mobile ? The main thing I like about t-mobile is using voice and data at the same time as well as the free international data/text.

On most Sprint phones, you can't use voice and data at the same time over LTE without Wifi. Sprint does have Wifi Calling. There is a new feature called Voice Plus over LTE but it is only available on a couple of phone models so far. It is not yet full VoLTE in any case but should be almost as good where you have a strong LTE signal, again only so far on a couple of phone models and possibly in limited areas even for those models. I expect it will expand rapidly though for new phones.

Coverage varies radically depending on where you live. Both carriers have major holes in many areas, but different areas. Sprint does include limited roaming on Verizon etc. in this free offer. Sprint does also have some international coverage in this offer, but more limited than on its major paid plans.

I have activated two different Sprint branded phones on this offer with no problem.

So have many others.

BUT they must be postpaid models ONLY and be fully paid off and not recently bought at a Sprint-sponsored discount or Sprint special offer etc. And, if they have been on an MVNO, you will have to get the ownership field changed from PLBL to SPCS (see other threads).

Then they will pass the web check.
Is this because it was is Sprint phone? I have read on forum that people buy a prepaid walmart whatever and have had it work.?Just trying to understand before I pull the plug!
I want to get a refurb iphone go buy a prepaid to get a number and activate then the sprint sim to port. It seems I have done my homework to make it work....
Thank you.

I am looking at a refurb iphone 7. I know the sprint list of phones says verizon only for that model.
So i figured I will get prepaid verizon from walmart for the new i phone to get a number and temp service. Then switch over to the sprint plan.
As I need a new phone anyway I figured this will save getting two phones to get the service.
Thank you

I went to Canada with this plan and it worked nicely. Data was free but slow. Calling was 20 cents/minute which was nice to at least have as an option if I had needed it. As far as domestic coverage, that just depends on your area. Here in Michigan I've had great service from both Sprint and T-Mobile, although the Sprint service is faster. I just tested at 85 Mbps speed last night which is huge. Today I got 56 Mbps which is still great.

Yes, the particular issue of forbidding prepaid phones would only apply to Sprint phones. However, for non-Sprint iPhones, on the other hand, you have to check carefully that the phone has the right bands (especially 41 and 26) and has a non-Intel processor (in one case) for it to work well on Sprint. That is what their guidelines are designed for in the eligibility list - to list only those models that are compatible with Sprint. I myself do not use iPhones and cannot keep track of which iPhone models are, and are not, compatible with Sprint without a lot of research. It varies a lot depending on model and even sub-model depending on which carrier the phone was made for. But there are others posting on that and you can research it or maybe you already know ....

What are you smoking again here? I got 2 SE 1 for $4,99/month and 1 for 2.99/month both have sprint financing and both paid off and THEY ARE ALL on the BYOD...

Yes I call Canada from the U.S. a lot and was disappointed that it is expensive on the Free Plan. However it is free unlimited on the Paid plan with the free "Premium International Experience" feature. It *looks" at first that you can select this on the free BYOD plan also, but they block it from actually taking effect.

Verify this, but a refurbished and unlocked Sprint-branded IPhone 7 should work on TMobile PrePaid and any other non-Sprint prepaid services like Straight Talk, H2O, etc

Good for you!

I'm talking about if they are NOT fully paid off in Sprint's records. Some have had problems and been billed extra, right?

I just raised it as an issue to be careful with, that's all. *Sometimes* there are issues. Obviously if Sprint deems that all obligations are fully satisfied, then it is fine.

Or is it your opinion that it is completely obvious that if somebody gets an lg g6 from best buy for $120 that it is going to activate fine no problem without any need to check further into the details?

Cut it out with your needless confrontational language though!
