Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I picked the Motorola G4 play phone up yesterday and would like to activate on sprint one year free plan

I need a SIM card

I called local sprint stores and it is not available

How do I get one? Should I use the promom number to order one? Someone mentioned this makes one ineligible for a free line

Appreciate help from anyone with experiemce

if you are already Sprint customer, call tech support ask them to file ClickIT ticket. It will takes 3 days to process. If you're not Sprint customer, you will have a hard time to find someone to help you.

so how did you do it? are you already a Sprint customer?

ELI5,
I have never had a post paid phone, and currently have the FreedomPop 100% free plan with 1gb data...I don't know squat about phones.

I would like to take advantage of this plan and I have bought a brand new Unlocked Moto G4 Play phone from this deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/10412928-moto-g4-play-unlocked-74-walmart-ymmv-b-m?page=8#commentsBox

I do not currently have a sim of any kind, what I would like to do is set up a cheapo prepaid and than sign up for this Sprint deal.

Am I correct in thinking this can be done? I assume no matter what prepaid plan I sign up to I will need to get a sim for that carrier...What is the most affordable way to accomplish this?

Thanks, I read through the first 50 pages of this thread and than the last 5 and couldn't quite figure out if I'm on the right track, a lot of acronyms flying around that I don't understand.
Did you figure it out? We have pure talk and are using that to do same process

I am still trying to figure out how to get a sim for this phone I think I will try online as not available locally

Try running it through the ting byod imei check. It can whitelist your imei in there database. If it shows up as working on cdma it should be elgiable.

I bought my SIM cards on eBay. Best Buy also sells sim cards in store.

i did run it through the Ting BYOD check and it said the phone is compatible with their GSM network, it doesn't say anything about CDMA, is there any trick to get it whitelisted through Ting? I read some post about some FiM (or something like that) but I'm not sure what it means

thanks again

FMiP = "Find My iPhone"

With FMiP turned on, it messes with the system. Turn it off and run it through the checker again. If it only says GSM then there is an error or its not compatible with Sprint.

Ported GV number within 30 minutes. The sales lady talked to the porting dept right away while i was waiting on the phone...and within 30 minutes my GV number was ported. I activated old Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 for this. I already had one line active on this offer prior to activating this 2nd line on GS3.

Couldn't activate Verizon iPhone 5. Has to be 5S or 5C.

So for the 2nd or 3rd lines you can port in a number but the device can be an old Sprint device? I had my daughter do this deal. I want to add myself as a 2nd line and port out my old Sprint number then port it back in on her account and use my current Sprint note 3.

Will sprint allow you to port in/change phone numbers after the line is active on the free plan? I have a separate number on Ting attached to an ineligible device that I'd like to keep. I've been keeping the Ting line active until I'm on the free plan.
