Yes I love that feature on my note 3. Hopefully they star beta testing more devices for the wifi calling/lte feature it looks like Sprint is going with. It worked ok for someone I know who is testing it out.

All you need is one eligible phone to start. After it activated, swap it from a regular Sprint phone. It will free up the eligible phone. Just rinse and repeat...
Can you recycle the same Sprint sim with the Sprint phone?

Well all 4G LTE Sprint devices have 2 radios - CDMA and LTE - and 2 antennas. However, the older androids had the RF circuitry so that both radios could function at the same time such that you could be on a CDMA call and still use data.

Once Verizon had VoLTE up and running, the android manufacturers decided to reduce costs by only including the RF circuitry to allow 1 radio to function at a time. Since Verizon has VoLTE and a large LTE network, it is only a problem on Sprint.

iPhones have never had the ability to do simultaneous voice/data on sprint.

As long as the SIM is the proper one for that phone, yes. But you can't do a simple SIM swap, you have to reassociate the SIM with the new phone's IMEI.

stop posting this nonsense...

promo is NOT extended to 8/30

there is no definitive end date....it could ed tomorrow..or in 3 months
you are one misinformed smart alex babu. seriously. i am a sprint L3 technician employee. So yes my word trumps yours. And yes is extended to 8/30 even in our internal docs.

the 8/30 date is also buried but mentioned in the promo landing page- do a keyword search or scroll to the bottom the 8/30 date is also referenced.

marketing evaluates this program a few days prior to the end of each promo cycle ending date and makes a determination of the viability of campaign renewal. the first ended on 6/30 but was ended to 7/30. same thing for the 7/30 campaign that was extended to 8/30 and 8/30 to 9/30.

so yes by 9/30, it could be renewed to 10/30 or just not renewed for another cycle. for for now, the 9/30 date is the ending date for this cycle unless it is renewed for another month.

so stop spewing your nonsense babu.

To add to what kwaboat posted, Samsung S8 can do simultaneous voice and data over LTE with an update called "Calling Plus" which will be released over the air starting TOMORROW. It will consolidate and replace "Wifi Calling" on those phones.

A couple of other phones already have it, as kwaboat notes, and many new phones will have it over time.

If I already picked up a sim from a sprint store and want to activate a old sprint phone that shows up as eligible, should i buy the sim from the eligibility page? If I am porting form google voice, will I have to call in or do you have to call in no matter what? I would like to avoid calling in if possible. Thanks!

You have to call in to use your own sim. I would not worry about activating unlisted Sprint phones that do test as eligible on the eligibility page when you enter IMEI. They are perfectly happy to do so. I have activated two. If you have some other reason that you do not want to call, then yes you would have to order a sim but might end up having to call in anyway later on at the credit verification stage.

I would be willing to pay the $15 if it meant I just pop the sim in and I have service on my google voice number without having to talk to sprint for an hour. Also, I would be opening the initial line under my wife's name since I already have Sprint service so I would have to coordinate that if we needed to call in. Thanks!

Also does the name on the google voice ported account have to match the name on the sprint credit check?

Yes "calling plus" I couldn't think of the name Sprint is branding it as.

I am using GSM (AT&T sim card). let me try to change the pin and give the port out information to sprint again. Hopefully it will work it has been a pain as i was able to port out four lines to this sprint BYOD and this last one stuck. (Three from cricket and one from freedompop before)
Were you able to get this resolved with FreedomPop? I'm trying to port out from my GSM (AT&T) account from FreedomPop and running in to similar issues. I give the info from my.freedompop.com and it comes back "invalid" from FP. Called Sprint to resubmit with same info, now waiting (after 2 days, not counting weekends) and still no response from FP.

Did changing your PIN on my.freedompop.com work?
