Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Agent told me 120 days from the start of the promotion as I only signed up yesterday, but he quoted 12/1/17 (from the 8/1/17 start). As with most agent info, YMMV I think...
What. Promotion started in first week of June.

Directly from the FAQ's on BYOD sign up page.
When can I upgrade to a new phone on this promotion?
If you signed up for the offer before 8/1/17, you can upgrade to a new Sprint phone by leasing or purchasing it in monthly installements after 10/1/17, and you'll still enjoy your free year of service. Any upgrades prior to 10/1/17 will require a plan change to Unlimited data, talk and text and you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

If you signed up 8/1/17 or later, you can upgrade to a new Sprint phone by leasing or purchasing it in monthly installements after 12/1/17, and you'll still enjoy your free year of service. Any upgrades prior to 12/1/17 will require a plan change to Unlimited data, talk and text and you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.
Great. Just one month more. Hope we can get iPhone 8 with some offers

Yes you can re use sims, and I do my upgrades through Best T. They offer better deals than sprint. They just charge you activation fee and I get Best Buy mobile rewards plus whatever gift card a particular phone offers.
Regarding activation/upgrade fee, if it's currently waived on sprint.com, you can call Sprint to get it refunded. A lot of people have had good luck getting it refunded.
Quote from tonymedik :
Will be canceling my paid sprint service. Do they prorate monthly charge if cancel one day after new billing cycle?
They don't prorate. However, they have a 14-day Satisfaction Guarantee, where they will refund all service charges and fees if you cancel any new line within 14 days of activation.

The BYOD promotion is now on TV commercial. I expect more people signing up.
What took them so long? New customer signups must have been slowed down lately Big Grin

I tried to search and read wiki but could not find what I was looking for. I want to port an iPhone (bought unlocked from apple store) on Tello to Sprint. Sprint is showing the device as ineligible.

Talked with Sprint Phillipines CSR and they told me to call Tello to release the phone. When I called Tello they said they will automatically release the phone if Sprint requests it.

Appreciate any ex-Tello folks sharing their experience (may be add it to Wiki in the process).
Quote from DeltaMajor156 :
Your Tello line is not eligible because Tello is a Sprint MVNO.

edit:
You need to port your line to a different carrier and then to Sprint.
In addition to what DeltaMajor156 said, the ownership/MVNO flag on that iPhone has to be changed from PLBL to SPCS for it to work on Sprint. PLBL means Private Label and for use on Sprint MVNOs only. SPCS means Sprint PCS and for use on Sprint.

What. Promotion started in first week of June.
IIRC, it was two waves where the first promotion started in June (hence the 10/1 upgrade date after 120 days. The promotion was supposed to end on 7/30 but was extended which is why 8/1 and later gets the 12/1 date...

I have paid Sprint account. Do you guys think referral rewards or AAdvatage still working for this deal? Also, I just ported a line from ATT to this deal, can I now port a paid Sprint line back to ATT until all 5 lines cycled to this deal?

Can anyone please help? I signed up for the Sprint 1 Year Free Service over the phone. Got the plan and everything was setup. However, I am just getting 3G always on my Nexus 6 although Sprint Network Coverage map shows 4G LTE Plus available. Tried everything possible that I know off: Network Setting Reset, Update PRL, Update Device Config, even replaced SIM at Sprint Store, still it is 3G wherever I go. I used to get good LTE signal with T-mobile and previously R+ on my Nexus 6 (unlocked, purchased from Amazon). Does anyone know of any fix?

I activated on 6/21. It's been around 48 hours now. Still my Nexus 6 is on 3G only. Tried everything. I know one other person on this forum also has same issue as mine. Can anyone please help with any suggestion or fix? Will really appreciate. Thanks
Did you ever get a resolution on this? Ported yesterday and I have the same issue (Nexus 6 and 3G-only)...

Thanks in advance!

Hi... I can answer that for you. I chatted with him (Learnr) few times. I told him, mine works after factory reset my Nexus 6. It will work...... I promise you.

Just in case after factory reset, yours still doing the same. I would suggest flash full OTA images for Nexus.

Good luck to you! Wink

Thanks, repped! Getting a fair amount of lag for a while now, so was planning to do this anyway, so this may be yet another reason to do it... Smilie Will give it a try!

Just activated my new SIM online and ported my number over from T-mo prepaid. Easy as pie. Took 10 minutes. My iPhone 6s is now up and running on Sprint for an almost-free year of service . Applause
