Here's my experience so far:

I've been a Sprint customer for something like 15 years, until Feb of this year, when T-Mobile lured me away. But this deal is enough to lure me back (I get good signal for both Sprint and TM where I live). I tried to sign up online last night, but got the dreaded "We're sorry, we're unable to confirm your credit online" message, like some of the other posters.

So today, I called the telesales line and spoke with a rep. She took down all of my info, and got to the credit check part, where she got stuck again. So she had to bring another rep from the "Manual Credit Check Department" on the phone, where he proceeded to tell me that I would need to go to a Sprint store with 2 forms of IDs to finish the credit check and account setup. The Telesales rep advised me to do that, then call back to finish the 1-year free promo setup on my new account.

Here's the thing - I have well over 800 on my credit score. There is NO reason to deny me a simple wireless account. The ONLY reasons I can think of is that I've had a Sprint account before (which I can still log into, but doesn't have active service on it). Needless to say, I'm HIGHLY annoyed
lol I am having the same problem.. I left sprint for tmobile with hookup about 30 dollars a month but you can't beat free. Now I am getting the run around with the credit check. I was on sprint 6 months ago and I had with them before and tmobile gave me no problem. Sprint is just garbage maybe its not even worth free.

Also if you read other peoples account if they do the credit check and don't put you on the free line right away you can get screwed out of the free line because it will mark you as not eligible when you call in to get on it after the credit check.

Did you ever get your problems resolved?

I'm going to go to the store tonight and get the identity verification done. Then I'm going to call telesales again. If they still give me trouble, I might just say f*** it and not worry about it.

Nah have not went to store yet.. What I find funny is the store will do the credit check for you but then you gotta go home and call. Enjoy getting treated like shit because you are not making them commission.

Ridiculous. It's almost as if they don't want ex-Sprint customers to return to the fold Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

If you are really insider then can you please tell us how and what can we upgrade after 1-OCT...As of now it shows upgrade eligibility in 2019 whereas according to terms and conditions when we signed up in June told to wait only 90days to be eligible for upgrade.
Wait until after your 3rd bill, and see if it resets then. If not, call Sprint.

I can add 3 free lines to a Sprint business account vs this offer.

Assuming similar if not same terms of free service for a year. Is there any reason not to just add the free lines to the business account over this promo?

I tried that and they told me that business lines are not eligible.

Looks like sprint and tmobile are trying to merge again. For those who get the free year you might get tmobile.. Pretty sweet.

Just transferred to Sprint to take advantage of this fantastic deal for the wife. I'm in Metro Atlanta. Speed tests at home show a bit of a spread (almost +/-30%) of ping and speed. I used the Ookla speed test app on an iPhone 7.

Ping 26ms (range from 19ms-31ms)
Down 44mbps (range from 33Mbps-53Mbps)
Up 1mbps (range from 0.32Mbps-1.76Mbps)

Remains to be seen how it does in rural areas, since roaming is limited to 100mb only and we go rural a couple times a month. That could be a problem for us personally, but that probably doesn't apply to 99% of people here.

You will never see roaming data faster than 3g speeds. But you will always be able to make a call.

But extended network roaming isn't limited to 100mb, is it?
