Welll I just stopped my port-in since Sprint signal is 1-2 bars and no LTE at home despite what their map says for their best coverage. Thank goodness the port was slow and I got someone in sprint to contact their port department to cancel. My Mintsim service has been flawless, but was tempted by the free year. Not for me.
Just curious, do you need service at home? If you have WiFi wouldn't WiFi calling make your phone act like there so service?

LTE Calling (Beta).

I have it. It works (but is officially beta until full VoLTE is enabled on the Sprint network and might have issues in some areas).

At least for now, it is only available for the Sprint S8, not the Universal S8.

(Same as some other Sprint features such as Visual Voicemail I believe).

But you can flash your S8 to the Sprint firmware (and accompanying bloatware and every Sprint feature) if you want.
Is the beta open?

Yes. It is called Calling Plus if you want to read more about it. Some other sprint phones are getting it too.

Yes.

The capability was added by default in a recent OTA update
(but toggled off initially by default).

Correct - Calling Plus encompasses both Wifi Calling and LTE Calling.

On the phone itself, the actual toggle to turn on or off calling over LTE is called "LTE Calling (Beta)."

There is also a higher level toggle called "Calling Plus" that enables the Wifi Calling toggle and the LTE Calling toggle below it.

The purpose of my (almost) switch was to save some $$$ and yes, good coverage at home is important. My plan was to use one line as my trial balloon to see if I wanted to port over 3 other lines that I have my reps use. They said I qualify for 5 lines on one bill and it would be a definite savings, but only IF I got decent coverage in rural areas. But in the end after looking longer at the coverage map, just too many areas of no coverage. Yes much is covered by roaming, but it's voice only.
For those in good coverage, it's a sweet deal no question.

My Nexus 6 won't connect to data. It will occasionally briefly connect to 3G but quickly drops it. Talk and text work fine.

I've searched this thread and Google countless times and tried several fixes, resets, menus, etc. None have worked. I am lost. Assistance requested.

Is the whole purpose just to beat the deadline tomorrow and then switch out to another phone later? Does the switch out phone have to be on the qualified list?
