All users who signed up in June are eligible. So i am waiting date to change to 1-OCT tonight to see what upgrade options they provide
I'm considering the HTC Bolt or LG G5 for $145 outright or $25 down and $5 per month with 18 lease + tax. Hopefully they'll allow it, although neither of these phones were eligible on the BYOD list.

One major fking issue. I have just used my Moto X Pure on Sprint to test and it is true. Sprint cannot handle voice and data simultaneously. Meaning, if you are on the phone with a friend and he told you to go to a new restaurant, you cannot put him on speaker and jump to Maps or Yelp to look it up. No data unless you are on Wi-Fi. If you are using your phone's navigation and a call come in, GPS still work but no route update and no map loading. If you are on the phone, no iMessage, Facebook messenger, WeChat, WhatsApp unless you are connected to Wi-Fi.

This is a huge issue for people that use navigation a lot or spend too much time on the phone.
I ported over two lines to solve this issue for myself. I have an iOS device for iMessage and social media and an Android device for media, productivity, and navigation. The method is certainly very extra. But when the service is free, you find solutions. Peace

Hmm, unless Sprint extend the deadline or they allow SIM card order today and activation later, there is no way I can transfer from T-Mobile. I've been to 2 Sprint corporate stores and 1 ran out of SIM card for iPhone and the other won't give for BYOD. 2 retail stores and 1 want $25 for SIM and the other only give SIM with phone purchase. Visited Apple Grand Central and Queens Center and they don't give nor sell SIM by itself.
I bought the Boost Mobile Bring Your Own Phone SIM Card Activation Kit from Best Buy. It was $9.99 + tax. The kit includes 3 different SIMs: SIMOLW506C, SIMOLW416Q, and SIMOLW506TQ. I bought 2 Lenovo Moto G5 Pluses from Walmart for $199 + tax each and then used SIMOLW506C to activate both phones. Apple Stores should also provide you with Sprint nano SIMs for free, but I can't confirm if those SIMs are eligible with this promo. The SIM card I received from Apple is SIMGLW436C. Hope this helps!

Great idea! I've recycled old Sprint SIM cards from Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile - all Sprint SIM cards for use on the BYOD.

I hoard all of my Sprint compatible SIMs in case I ever need to activate with FreedomPop, Ting, (RIP RingPlus LMAO), or Tello. Based on how difficult it was to find the correct SIM for this promotion, I think I'm going to hold onto them just in case. I will never understand why Sprint makes it so difficult for consumers to use their terrible service, lol.vomit

Go buy boost sim kit. It costs you 9.99 + tax. You can get it either from Best buy or Target.
it has three different Sim cards in package.

Sprint doesn't care if the SIM was previously used - just that it's currently not active on any other account.

Mine said that too when I first joined but I think it is an error.
Watch out as the deal's terms say that if you upgrade before being eligible you lose the free plan.

Now, "upgrade" means take another Sprint phone deal for a special price.
Just swapping using tech. support chat to another byod phone is never a problem.

I have a paid off Sprint LG G6 with no balance owed to sprint. Why would my device not be eligible?
Is the phone inactive? Did you swap another sprint phone in its place to deactivate the G6 or port the line with the G6?

If the G6 is still active on a sprint account it will not be eligible for the free plan.

The Apple sims work for this promo, only for iPhones though.
