ok..so sprint devices are eligible, but will return uneligible because they are not a device of another carrier

suggestion:

1, have a number to port that is eligible
2. have a correct sim for the unactive sptint ip
3. call the number on the wiki
4 give them the information requested
5 make sure u confirm the right plan at least 3 times
6 cross your fingers

Thanks.
Called 866-782-8777, and was told I cannot get the promo because my phone was a sprint device.
How do you guys convince them that sprint devices are eligible?

Called them and not eligible. How do you convince them that the sprint device should be ok? Thanks.

Well thats odd, I'm using an old Sprint phone right now. Was the phone used on a Sprint MVNO? Another thing you can do is signup with a different phone and then switch to your phone.

Just called again. It seems the CSR on the other side was also using the same imei checker, and confirmed it was not eligible - the system just does not allow her to go further. Frown

If signup with a different phone and then switch to this inactive iphone, do I need to activate the other phone first and then wait for some time before call them to swap?
Or, when I received the sim card and call for activation, I immediately request swap?

I have activated my phone. I need to activate 2 more lines on the same account. Can I buy the SIM card from the local store and activate it over phone or you have to order SIM online in order to get this promotion?

The real reason it fails lies elsewhere and people (including their sales staff) just make up any reason they can think of to get rid of you. They do not know why. Maybe you put it in their minds by asking if Sprint phones are eligible, so they make up an excuse based on that.

Most likely it just needs the ownership flag reset to SPCS if it was ever used on an MVNO. Or there could be old billing issues with it from long ago.

The advantage of doing it via Swap is just that you are dealing with Tech. Support to do a swap and they are prepared to find out the real reason it fails and, in a case like the ownership flag problem, fix it.

So, I just need any IMEI & Phone number combination that pass the eligibility check to order the sim. Once the sim arrives, I can insert it to the my old sprint iphone and call the tech to activate it. Is this workflow right?
Just want to double check before I start execute it. Thanks.
