Thanks. Already tried the Ting IMEI checker, and it reported as compatible with Ting.
But still not eligible when using the Sprint checker. Still waiting for LiterallyUnlimited's response. Frown

Also, I might have missed it but did you say whether you have tried https://ting.com/byod to see what it says for your IMEI?

Ting (in the person of LiterallyUnlimited who works there) has programmed it so that it automatically fixes up the ownership flag for some phones! All you have to do is enter your IMEI.

I could pull out my magic crystal ball to look into the future. I haven't needed it since the Ringplus days.
That'd be awesome if you could do that. Thanks in advance.

I'm asking if the previous promotions have been going full months I guess.

Is the phone number that you are porting from a non-sprint number?
Boost Mobile or Virgin Mobile phones are ineligibile.
Sprint post paid phones are ineligible. However it the phone is tied to a phone number already on Sprint or its MVNO then it is ineligible.

Did the Ting eligibility checker passed for CDMA or GSM?
Ting accepts phones to work on T-Mobile (GSM) as well as Sprint (CDMA).

Ting checker passed for both CDMA and GSM, which is wierd -- I thought the phone was locked to Sprint CDMA only.

This was originally a Sprint locked phone on a post-paid account, and was used on Ringplus for a while after the contract finished. Based on the Wiki, I thought only the Sprint pre-paid phones are not eligible. Did I miss something?

Yes. free comes with a cost (your time) with Sprint. On T-Mobile, I can get new line up and running under 5 mins.

I still maintain a TMobile account, and it takes way longer than 5mins.

Since it was on Ringplus you have to reset ownership flag. That will fix it. LiterallyUnlimited will do it or Sprint tech. support could.

This is well known and nothing new.

Go to Ting.com and ask chat (under Help) to switch the ownership flag to SPCS. If they ask if you're a Ting customer just say you were a RingPlus customer. Its free and immediate.

I have switched my Phone to Sprint. Want to add 2 more lines to the same account. So I need to get 2 SIM cards. How do I do this? Online you can add the lines but you have to buy phone from Sprint. I'm bringing my phones. I didn't see any place where you can just order the SIMS unless you create separate account for each phone.

Buy SIM cards on your own from other places (see wiki) -- call the activation number in wiki to add lines to existing free account

Is there an end date on this deal? I know it's been extended but I have to pay ETF with ATT and then unlock my device which they said might take a week and Sprint couldn't guarantee the deal would be active through any certain date.
The unlocking process should just take a day. You can request it via their online form. I'd pay the ETF and start the transition to Sprint.

Free sim option for iPhones - Virgin gives free sprint sims for iPhones. You could give them iPhone imei and your landline # and get a sim. Then use the sim to port to sprint with correct imei and phone # that you are porting. I think that's doable..
