Is there any way to switch from a pay-as-you-go plan with Virgin to this Sprint offer and keep my number? Would I have to buy a Verizon phone on ebay and then switch to a Verizon prepaid plan and then immediately switch to Sprint?
Switch to T-Mobile prepaid then switch to Sprint.

It's a soft credit pull, which customer service said it was a soft pull. Nothing showed up on credit monitoring after many months now.
Several posts in this thread said it is hard pull from Sprint using Experian for credit check. Does your credit monitoring check Experian?

I've seen those posts as well from the start. And yes, Experian as well. Customer service says soft pull and that's what it was.

I've been on this plan for about two months with my Moto G5 plus. I get most of my text messages, but not all of them. Both my wife and I are having the same issue on the same plan/phone combo.

I do not receive about 5% of my text messages I'd estimate based on talking to others when they ask me why I didn't text back and they show me their phone with the text sent.

Does anyone else have this problem? We were not having this issue with the Moto G5+ while on Straight Talk. Only when we swiched to the free Sprint service.
My wife uses a Moto G5+, and I don't hear her complaining. :-)

You may need to do a carrier reset:
A carrier reset can restart your network connection and improve the functionality of your device. To complete a carrier reset open your phone's native dialer and dial ##72786# or ##SCRTN# if you have an Android phone (that is not a Nexus).

For Nexus phones dial Dial *#*#72786#*#* AND I think that also works with the Moto 5G+.

For iPhones Dial ##25327# or ##UPDATE#

For some/most Virgin phones Dial ##VIRGIN# or ##847446#

You should do a system update in the about phone settings menu and update the 5G+ to the latest Android version available for that phone.

Also make sure you have the latest Google Play Services for your specific phone. There are different versions for different phones. Download the Google Play Services app to see what version the phone has and which is now the latest version. This will not help with texts but it'll help for other Google apps,

Have 2 s8+'s from tmobile on a postpaid plan. Am I reading this right? We can transfer our 2 lines to Sprint and get $200 back from our credit union at the same time for a year of free unlimited service?

Is this worth the hard credit pull if you're trying to buy a house?

My credit monitoring service alerted me that a Sprint inquiry had been reported through Experian almost as soon as I opened the acct.

That said, I don't think one inquiry (or even a couple inquiries) from opening a phone account would adversely affect one trying to buy a home...

Where are you monitoring your Experian checks ?
Is there any free service that provides it?

I use MyIDCare, which is currently free for me as a victim of the federal government data breach. Yay. :/ I otherwise don't normally use any such service.

You need to buy a sprint SIM (you can get one at their corporate store or order online) and a phone from the eligible phone's list. I already had a phone, just got the SIM from the store (for free).

Google voice/ call forwarding users:

Does anyone else also have problems with call forwarding canceling on its own?

I have my Sprint number conditionally forwarded to my GV # so that unanswered calls go to that voicemail. However, about once a week I get a voicemail on my Sprint number, which means my call forwarding was somehow canceled. I called Sprint and they've escalating the issue, but I'm not hopeful they'll have an answer. Sprint denies canceling the forwarding on their end.

I'm using a Note 8 if that matters.

Anyone else have this issue?

It's funny how they say 1 year, but you only get about 9 months....

Typical Sprint, giving 75%....

You get a year (plus a bit) from the date you open the plan with the first line.
It says on the web page that that same date applies for lines added later.
