should we need to buy sprint sim alone for this or do we need to buy one of the eligible phones to port from google voice? what is the best way to buy sprint sim or sim+phone@low cost.....anyone ported their no from lycamobile to sprint? whether we need two sims for port(existing lyca sim to new sprint sim or number porting will happen in lyca sim itself to sprint)
the cheapest way if you dont care about your number is purchase a freedom pop sim for 99 cent. downgrade to the free plan immediately and call sprint, your porting info will be under the account settings on freedompop.

Im not sure the procedure to port a number into freedompop if you want to keep your old number oyu will have to ask someone else about that.

I wanted to take advantage of this plan so I ported out of my SERO plan to Verizon PPD (iPhone6) ~Sept 26. Two days later I tried to sign-up online and everything was fine except it wasn't able to verify my credit and to call in. So I called the # and they said everything was fine until the credit check and they were able to see my "old" account (probably through my SS#). They said this was for new customers and I had been with them for x years. I was screwed. I gave up.

A couple days later I received an email from Sprint saying please come back and signup with the unlimited plan. If I did it by 10/12, they would credit my account $10/month for a total of $50/month until 6/30/2018.

So, anyone know how long you have to be a non-Sprint customer to be considered a new customer? I received my final bill today. Is it a coincidence that my "deal" expires today?

OK, I just went through some crap over the past couple of days, but I now have a new leased lg v20 on my plan with no plan change. Here is what happend:

I signed up in June and new I was eligible for an upgrade according to original terms. First tried to get in on the galaxy s7 edge sams club deal but they could not add the phone to my account. Didn't really want one, the gift card would have made it a no brainer, but couldn't get it done.

Noticed on Friday that there was a link on my Sprint dashboard stating I was eligible for an upgrade. Followed the link and found the lease deal for the LG V20, which I did want, with reasonable price and no penalty to pay off early. Ordered the V20 and noticed shipping was an extra $10 or could pick up at store for free. Chose store pick up which was a mistake. Arrived and the agent attempted to activate, which it would not allow without changing the plan. I told her I wanted to keep my plan. She called sprint and could not get it activated. Another agent, maybe a manager, tried to help and found some docs from Sprint explaining that they could not activate or sell a phone in store with this plan. Users would have to activate themselves online. However, the store would not give me the phone without activating it first because of inventory. I was also told that the order could not be canceled because she had tried to activate. So she performed a return.

I went home and checked my account and noticed that I was no longer eligible for an upgrade without paying the full price of the v20 that was returned. I got on chat and got an agent to cancel the order and supposedly refund the down payment. Chat agent reported that the account takes 24 hours to reset then should be able to order, but even this agent thought I would have to change the plan.

Waited until Sunday and found I was eligible again. Ordered again and chose shipping. V20 arrived on Tuesday and I attempted to activate on sprint.com/activate. The activation failed and the message told me to chat or go to store. I knew going to the store was out and that chat didn't seem to know the deal either.

Decided to call the number posted in the thread. The call was immediately answered and I asked the agent if she was familiar with the byod 1 year free promotion, and she replied that I had reached the department that deals with that promotion. I informed her I should be eligible for an upgrade and had ordered a phone online, but can't activate online. She asked me some questions confirming when I had started my account and to be sure I purchased the phone online. She put me on hold a few times while getting it activated. My old phone lost connection and she asked me to turn on the V20. It started and stated it was activated. She confirmed the phone was activated and my plan had not changed. It rebooted and when it came back up it stated it could not download the network settings. Agent connected me to another agent who had me key in a code on the dial pad which reran sprint setup and rebooted. Phone was fully functional.

tldr; I successfully upgraded my byod line to a lease without a plan change by doing the following: Followed link online for upgrading the phone. Chose to SHIP the phone NOT pick up at store. Called the number in this thread (866-782-877) after the phone arrived. Confirmed the agent was familiar with my account plan. Agent activated phone without plan change. As always, YMMV

Hoping someone might be able to answer a question about Google Voice. I ported to this plan from Verizon on Monday. Given that Google Voice and Sprint have the backend setup to work together, I would like to get my mobile number to also be my Google Voice number. When I check for integration, it says "Unfortunately, Google Voice cannot be enabled on this Sprint phone. Please contact Sprint for more details as to why this cannot be enabled." Has anyone else received or overcome this error? I am using Pixel from Google and do not have WiFi calling that I can tell (no longer see a setting for it like I did when on Verizon).

Edit - after reading more, it looks like integration might've been disabled now.

I read 60% of the thread and all of the wiki. Can I do this with Project Fi phones that are currently active with Fi? I tried my 6p and it says ineligible. Haven't checked wife's phone yet. Anyone with success?

Yes, I ported a FreedomPop number but it takes a "very very long time for the porting".

Thanks for being the 1st to try it. So is the phone's price cheaper when you upgrade or is it the same price is signup up as a new line?

To whoever posted this about the e4, are you talking about the xt1767 Verizon moto e4?

Moto E4 issues - heads up !!!
I got the moto E4 to finally work with Sprint. If you want to save yourself some hassle - go to Best buy and buy the boost mobile sim card. I don't think anyone at the sprint phone number knows that this phone requires a special SIM (must be SIM card part number SIMOLW416Q). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost...Id=5887020. Here is the link for ordering the SIMOLW416Q SIM (good for moto E4) directly from SPRINT online with Overnight shipping.https://m.sprint.com/shop/mobile/...=112200916
