Thank you everyone for the help. I bought a LG G5 and and S7 edge from Ebay and moved my numbers from ATT to Sprint. Network is not good as ATT, but I can't complain with the free year. 😀

For Sprint you need to use correct SIM for your phone model otherwise service will not work

Thanks. It looks like they gave me the wrong one that only works with iPhone 8 so I need to go back and see if they have the ones for 5s-7
The apple store should have the 436C which will work for your 5S-7 phones. Also just an fyi, the verizon 5s missing lte band 26,41, the 6,6+ missing lte band 41. These phones work but don't have the best Sprint data experience. Some say Sprint slow anyway so not major issue.

thanks for confirming the 436c should work, that's what I just got 5 of. Also very helpful info about the 5s (it will have very limited use anyway and will phase out once I get the iPhone 10). As for the 6 and 6+, that stinks but their usage is also not mission critical so I'm Ok with that. It's really the lines using iPhone 7 and 6s+ that matter most to me.

I decided to take a chance and switch from Cricket to this plan. I've been on Sprint 10 years ago and it was garbage in the area I live in. I can say, not much has changed, still garbage.

Will test it out for a week or so and probably try out Total Wireless

I have a close friend who is elderly and on a fixed income. She has an Iphone 6 and a plan on ATT where she is paying 100/month!!!! I would like to help her. I already have 2 (out of a potential of 5) lines on the free plan. She is a close enough friend (and needy), so I am willing to add a line for her on my plan. Here is the problem that I need help on from the experts: She is on contract with the Iphone 6 until Nov. 11. I am assuming the free offer will end on Oct. 31. So, I am looking for a way to "bridge" her until Nov. 12th when her phone can be unlocked. (In addition, I am told that ATT may take 5 days to unlock). So, my plan (to start the "bridge" time), is to request a SIM for an additional line on 10/31. I should receive the SIM early in November. But, what is the best way to "bridge" about 2 weeks after that until her phone will be unlocked? Thanks for any help! :-)

Thanks for your help.
1. Currently we have an iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone SE, Samsung Galaxy Amp (bought through Cricket) and Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime (also bought through Cricket). The three iPhones all appear to be compatible (using the Sprint site to check). The two phones purchased through Cricket do not appear to be compatible.

2. The Galaxy Amp Prime is my husband's business line so it's important that we don't lose that number. The fifth line is Grandma and it doesn't really matter what her phone # is because she doesn't give it out.

3. Closest Apple store is an hour away so I'm planning on just buying SIMS through Sprint.

4. Thanks for the link to MOTO E. I just ordered the Moto G5 Plus through Amazon.

I will have the G5 by Saturday. As soon as I have the phone I will order the SIM cards. Might try to figure out how to do GV for the placeholder for the fifth line. Hopefully, I will have SIM cards by Monday and will get this all switched over. I'm pretty sure this will go through the end of the month but my Cricket month renews on the 27th so I need to get this done before then.

Thanks again!
I strongly suggest you test the water with 1 line first to make sure voice quality and coverage are good for you.

few options:

1. is her number important

2. have u inquired what the etf will be if u cancel her att account now. since it is till nov 11. it may not be that high and worth it to cancel now and simply pay etf, (~$50?)

3. consider just adding a line now, and porting in after nov 11. it is still not clear if that even will be allowed, so she could potentiall loose her number..if number is important, see item 2 above

edit:

see here for phone..perhaps get this phone..activate..after nov 11..switch to iphone..s.ell
this phone for $50-$75....still worth it considering savings $100/month for 1 year

Thanks desi_babu_2010! Rep given! :-)

You bring up a good point! Yes, her phone number IS important Which brings up ANOTHER issue. When creating a line, if I have the phone number and password from the ported number, will they care that the number is in a different (her) name, or do they just go by the number and password?
