Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So I've switched now to Sprint (4 lines and had to buy 1 new phone to pull it off) - and I'm surprised to see that my free service is costing $22.88 per month. The breakdown is $0 for plans/equipment, $7.96 for Sprint administrative charge, $1.60 regulatory charge, and $13.32 government charges. (Looks like my county is charging $12/month for 911 service!) I'm signed up for autopay.

Is this all correct or ??? With the purchase of the new phone, I might have just been better off with my cricket plan.
Yes, it's the ridiculous 911 fee... maybe an address change is in order? ;-)

What kind of plan is your "regular" cell phone plan?
I have a 4-line Verizon account with 16GB of shared data and rollover (so we always have 24-25GB per month since we have WiFi available almost everywhere we go) for $38 and some change per person.

While certainly that's more expensive, it also comes with a network that has service where I need it. I travel quite a bit and know for a fact that Sprint doesn't work a couple of places where I need service. It's actually why I switched away from Cricket in the first place...heaven knows, I hate Verizon and their locked phones (I used to be an avid ROM guy), but I can't beat their coverage.

I get your point, but at the same time I, too, would be annoyed if I was being charged $22 per month for my "free" plan. At $22, you might as well go with other options since almost all of them are better than the bottom-of-the-barrel Sprint network.

Is the 911 charge a one time charge or is it a combination of all your devices? Would one line or 2 lines be less?

Something wrong. I have four lines, total is $12.22. Government charges for me are $3 for all four lines.

I havent seen this answered if we use the BYOD offer can we add a separate iPhone X line under Flex plan onto the account and pay the $60 for the line or whatever it is? I take it nothing can be combined with this offer?

Ohhhh, never mind. Yeah, that's like $5.50 per line per month. Might be higher than others based on location, but that's not exactly going to break the bank.

I signed up last weekend. 2 lines.

Already received bill. The breakdown is:

Plans and equipment: $0.00

Sprint Surcharge: $11.83 (below is the breakdown)
Admin fee $3.98
MD Assessment: $0.05
Montgomery County Utility Tax: $7.00
Regulatory charge: $0.80

Government tax: $1.28

Total bill: $13.11

I don't think it include the $5 autopay credit yet. Don't know when I'll get it.

It does include the autopay credit. Your taxes are high! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
The killer/outlier is the Montgomery County Utility Tax.
Still, a GREAT deal for free service! Applause

Your plan alrdy shows $0 so it includes the auto pay discount -- you're responsible for your local taxes/fees

Your county tax is probably $3.50 per line so $7 total for 2 lines

$13.11 / 2 lines = $6.55 local taxes/fees per line for unlimited service w/ 10gb hotspot

Your county tax is probably $3.00 per line so $12 total for 4 lines

$22.88 / 4 lines = $5.72 local taxes/fees per line for unlimited service w/ 10gb hotspot

IF they extend this offer today, does everyone get the extension, or are those who got it earlier limited to 12 months free?

Certainly won't break the bank, but was just very surprised that "free" wasn't free. I never realized that our county charged such a high 911 monthly fee. Plus I didn't realize that there was an administrative fee. I had just read that there would be a fee but it would be waived when I signed up for autopay. To switch to this "free" plan I had to buy my husband a new phone ($230) and Sprint coverage is so lousy here that he keeps having troubles with calls (office is out of our home). I've ordered airave to see if that will help his calls but if that doesn't work our stint with Sprint is going to be very short-lived.

The sprint site was super slow so I called to get the sim. The CSR said something along the lines of "we are getting a lot of calls today because people waited for the last day." Just a FYI -
