If a new line is already fully paid for and you own the phone outright, it is still free to add it.

But if you want to take advantage of a Sprint phone pricing offer, yes you are right.

I'm sure Verizon is not locked. I confirmed. But I can't understand why sprint can't activate my Verizon issued iPhone X.
What did ting checker say? Did it pass for CDMA and GSM or just GSM? Also sprint probably doesn't check if iPhone is locked. The iPhone software/activation policy is what will limit which carriers SIM cards can be used(Disclaimer,Not an Apple expert)

Ting confirmed it's unlocked for both. I'm at a sprint store now and they also say they can't activate it lol. What a mess. They are checking with a manager now to see if it can be added to their system apparently.

Be VERY careful at store that they don't change plan. SIM card 416Q or 426Q should work.

well both phone support and chat kept saying i had to go to the sprint store to activate the Verizon iPhone X. At the store they had to get the manager to manually add the IMEI to their system and that allowed the phone to be activated. I asked the rep to ENSURE there would be no plan change and he confirmed he's not touching the plan at all. Long an behold 2 hours later i get an e-mail from sprint that my plan was changed. what a mess.

I called sprint and they are submitted a ticket to have my plan switched back. hope this information helps others.

If you have the Free Year Plan, it's better not to even walk by a Sprint Store while you are out shopping. nod

I got my Nexus 5x fixed 21 months after purchase from BH Photo. I sent to LG & got it back within 7 days. Hassle as always but could have been worse. Free shipping both ways. The same phone was returned to me. Works fine so far, about a month. Just fyi.
i sent it in already. like last week and have to send it in again this week

How is this a deal?? 10 bucks shipping on a sim card... but really how is this a deal? seams like more advertising than posting a deal. SD really needs some mods to buckle down this is worse than the game bundle/ PSPlus/ Xbox GWG notifications, at least those can be a debatable DEAL, this is your standard 150 dollar phone bill WITH NO DEAL INVOLVED. How is this a deal??

Not only plus it's Sprint, with the limited H/W available I don't see me ever using Sprint at all.
10 gbs of data for 3 a month works for me

You should never go to any store with the 1 year free plan- that was part of the ToS. You should have called and asked Sprint phone tech support to open a clickit ticket to add your iphone x esn to the activation whitelist

Is this still alive? Debating it. I'd have to get a new phone and I'd need to use Sprint, which is fairly crappy down here.

T Mobile website for activation is asking for my SIM and IMEI. Do I have to put in the moto e4 IMEI, or can I put in a random old GSM phone?
