Thank you! That's very helpful. I assume that there's a Sprint SIM card already in my phone since my 2 year contract was with Sprint?
yes, and Sprint SIMs never expire, and are tightly tied to the ESN/Phone

4 years is like 20 in doggie years (and cell providers). If you're rural it might still be poor, but I doubt it. Very usable for most. Try it, or don't.

nope, it will throttle only if tower is overcrowded.

I realize that's what I was wondering...... if you often ran into "overcrowded" towers (which area are you in?)... Smilie

Did you expect someone to try to talk you into signing up?

Or should I apologize profusely for your bad experience in the past?
Would you like me to get a supervisor Sir? Do you mind if I put you on a brief hold sir? Have I helped you with all your questions and concerns today sir?

Sprint network has improved a lot in the last few years. Still not wonderful, but worth every penny that I'm not paying! ApplauseApplauseApplause
My experience with Sprint is horrible. Even if their service is improved and this is an real unbeatable deal, they will still be overwhelmed with thousands of new customers.

How long should it take to activate? I ported over a number from Google Voice and ordered the SIM from Sprint. I'm stuck on configuring Sprint network. It fails 5 times and then stops trying until I reboot the phone and then it fails 5 more times.

I bought the device brand new from Amazon direct, not a third party seller. Its a Moto X Pure edition. It was never used on Sprint before. Every Sprint MVNO IMEI check is passing eligibility. Ive spent nearly an hour on the phone being transferred to different depts at Sprint. Nobody really knows about the plan or how to fix the IMEI issue. I missed the number in the thread, ill give that one a try.

EDIT- I give up, this isnt worth it. Every number and dept I try nobody knows how to fix it, or I just get hung up on after wait on hold forever.
Oh now I understand. Sorry I did not think of the ownership flag because of the misleading way the Sprint reps worded it to you. . As pointed out by edog11, since it was on an mvno, you need to have the ownership flag reset from PLBL to SPCS. That is what the underlying issue is. They are misinterpreting that since it was on an mvno, you might still have an obligation to the mvno. LiterallyUnlimited can fix the flag for you. He is with Ting and it is all approved by Sprint, for whom he used to work, but you have to approach him privately since you are not a Ting customer. You can contact him here or on Reddit. He is https://www.reddit.com/user/LiterallyUnlimited. You can just send him the imei and he will flip the flag.

Then it will show as free and clear even in the Sprint Eligibility checker.

....waiting for someone to port out of the current deal, and port back in to get close to 15 months more......I will do it next month!
Just to be clear, you always get the end date from your original offer, and not the one for new customers, so this has never been reported to happen and never will in all probability, unless someone can find a way. Certainly I myself would like to find one too!
So far the only way is to use a different SSN (a friend's or relatives) but I do not want to do that either.

Sorry, it's I who wasn't being clear. To do this you DO need to Port out, then back in with a new SS#.........EEK!

Sounds like a Porting Issue, sometimes Google Voice Ports take a while....call the Porting Department directly..... (877) 503-3269

I travel regularly/monthly, and have also used it Internationally (included and also free). International is a little slow, but fine for email/browsing. No complaints here, but to each his own! Cool
