Same. Using a Nexus 5X.

Hoping this gets sorted. Interesting that the reason stated is that the phone is not compatible, when I've used the phone on the Sprint network (via Ring Plus) in the past.
the opening section of this post does ask folks who brought Nexus from Google directly to deregister as Fi uses Sprint. I tried to port my number on to a nexus 5x and the sprint lady kept telling me its "locked". Will try contacting Fi ... might have luck

How are people getting other devices besides what is on their "eligible" list to go through with BYOD???? Is it just luck or does it depend on how nice your CSR is?
The list of devices are all from non-sprint network/unlocked since this is BYOD. If you have a sprint supported device, you can bring your number for this plan. I bought sprint LG G5, V20 and S7 edge from ebay and ported-in from AT&T. None of these devices are in the list.

Has anyone been able to swap a device today? Sprint is telling me there is a technical error in their systems and swaps aren't working right now. Just want to make sure it is indeed a system-wide issue and not an issue with my account or the phone I'm trying to swap.

I signed up for the BYOD 1 Year Free online.
Received the SIM card.

For number porting, I had given my FreedomPop number but that number was marked as Inactive as it was dormant. So I activated a new number and provided it to them. FreedomPop declined the porting request.

Spoke to the Sprint agent and they issued me a new number but assured me my BYOD 1 year free still applies.

Now I see the plan as - "Unltd Freedom w/ AutoPay". I want to make sure that is infact the BYOD plan and I dont want to get slugged $65 for a Sprint line I wont be using :-)
You may be better of cancelling it. Once the phone and sim is free; I would port a GV number for $3..

Alright, hoping someone will cut me some slack here as there are over 12,000 comments and 275+ pages so looking through them is tough and skipping pages gets me mixed answers.

What I have -
1 - An unregistered, unlocked Moto E4
2 - The correct Boost/Sprint sim from the Wiki.
3 - A mint sim starter kit
4 - A google voice number

Question set 1 - What is easier to transfer to this plan, using the Moto E4 - Google voice or Mint Sim? I see some issues with mint sim needing to be move from PLPL to SPCS or something, via contacting that fellow on reddit. I also see some say that you need to call for Google voice and some say you don't. Is Google the "potentially easier" route to go? Or is activating on Mint, then transferring over an hour later? Will I have to contact the reddit guy if I do it shortly after activating?

The below is a separate question after I have this account.

What I want to accomplish is - Get the G6 on BF to give as a Christmas gift.

Question set 2 - What do I have to do at BB to not jack up my "free year"? Can the same SS# and have "2" accounts? Or do I have 1 account, 1 free number and 1 paid number?

I'm thinking a quick search will tell me how/when to cancel the G6 and pay it off but if someone wants to make it easy on me, feel free Smilie

TIA!
Answer to your question set 1. I have used GV to port. Use E4 and sim, port GV number. Setup the BYOD Free account over phone.
No experience with mint sim porting...

Got 4 lines setup without issue, cell coverage is better than AT&T (Spring, TX) in my area but the data is a little slower but for almost free i can not complain.

If anyone runs into the issue where Sprint can not port in your number do to not having service in your area (My Numbers were from Alaska), the cheapest and fastest way i found to get a new number was through this ebay auction [ebay.com], maybe it will help some like it did for me.

Ah I see. So eligible devices are Sprint devices as well as the list?

Yes, on phone with Sprint for 1hour+. Cant activate my third Google Voice port using iPhone5C. Said its a 'known' issue and will call me back in two hours.

Thanks for the info.
Good to know it isn't just me or iPhone X's in general.
Funny thing is they've been telling me to try again in 2 hours for the last 12-13 hours. I've probably tried 4 times already.

i don't think so.

best case is an extension to this free plan is made.

an ok case is i have to port my important number back to project fi and the 4 other lines back to tmo until another promo rolls around.

worst case is it converts to something similar to the current 5 line plan for 100.

the phone displays fine in mysprint account, but not activated. 'No Network' in settings. very frustrating. Porting numbers rarely go smoothly for me. I see why nobody leaves their carrier.

Now sprint called me back with a brand new person, have to restate the entire issue again and the sprint employee never heard of 'google voice'. Is this a joke? I give sprint one year until they are gone for good.

I got new Moto G5 Plus and tried to Swap. Found it needs a special SIM. Searched few stores but was asked to go to a Sprint store where they do repairs and they will have it. The store rep started taking details and after some time said he changed the plan so that he can activate my device. He did not inform me before changing. He asked to call cust care and to change back. Now I am struggling to change it back to original plan. Customer care as usual first say swap cant be done. Such a mess. Their service is good but when we have deal with their customer rep and store guys, its nightmare. Earlier had thought about keeping the plan after free service but now, never Sprint after free plan.

I bought an iPhone X from Ting on a $975 launch day promo. Received it yesterday (they even included a free Sprint sim in addition to a Ting sim) and did a Project Fi -> GV -> Sprint port. By far the cheapest option I could find to get the new X! Smilie

I will say that Project Fi has spoiled me in terms of customer care. I was unable to get a BYOD SIM from Sprint online due to 'something on their end' and the corporate store was even worse, they said they never carried SIMs and only used 'what was in the box'. They offered no help or even a normal blank SIM. I am not sure what Sprint is trying to accomplish with this deal, to me they only highlighted how terrible they are to deal with -as soon as this promo is over I am gone.
