So I had one BYOD-free line, and then ordered two Essential phones on the $45 plan. I haven't even receved them yet, so I'm yet to activate them, but Sprint called me and said I can't have both the BYOD-free and the paid plans on the same account. They told me to call back after receiving their phones.
I read previous comments in this thread that once you open the first free BYOD line, then you could add paid lines.

Did you add paid lines? Did you order Essential on free line?

I read that too, and so that's exactly what I did. Opened the first BYOD, give me today, and then bought two Essentials on two new added paid lines. I'm confused as to what Sprint wants from me now.

Has anyone successfully activated a cellular iPad with this deal? Would be awesome.

I too was able to plug in my iPad (mini) IMEI and a google voice number and it came back confirmed as qualifying for the promotion.

However I'd appreciate it if anyone can let me know if they've been successful actually activating the sim in an iPad. Anyone know if iPad sims are different than iPhone?
Wish I woulda searched the thread more thoroughly, I tried this because I saw someone mentioned it, didnt realize he couldnt activate it later.... Wasted $13.

Has anyone been able to upgrade their iPhone while on this plan? All I see available is regular retail (no discounted iPhone 7 or 8)

Hi,
I have read some of the thread so bear with me if it is mentioned somewhere that I missed. I was planning to add a new line for a family member. I have a verizon 5s phone that is currently not being used (my older phone). I dont have a sprint account. I do have a sprint SIM card from apple store that i got a year back to try ring but never got around to. The only thing i dont have is a phone line for the family member to port out.

Can i still get this free sprint service as in with a new number? If not, what is the least painful way of getting a temporary number on that iphone and then porting that out to sprint to avail of this offer? My spouse has a prepaid basic phone number from Tmobil that I could use (it isnt a smarphone), but prefer not to mess that up.

thank you

EDIT: Funny, same or similar question just when i hit the send button. So guess i am not the only one thinking along those lines

Yes, because this is an offer to get people to switch to Sprint, not just to give away free service to anyone without a cell plan.
