(Not sure if this was asked before and buried in the thread, I apologize if this was).
Has anyone done this and successful? Got shot down on the IMEI itself, so it can't be a sim card issue.
Can I get this plan up and running and activated without every having the actual device that I am going to "bring" (going to use a friends old IMEI that is working with the checker). I plan then opening another paid account to do the Essential phone / LG G6 deal that is going on right now. Once the phone is paid off, I would close the paid account and do a IMEI swap on the free line.
Anybody see anything wrong or not possible in this plan?
The sprint rep is asking me for my current carrier name? What should i tell him?
Also he is asking for account number for the current carrier? Is it the google voice number?

In my online account, the eligibility checker apparently let's me upgrade for Essential deal $5. Can I do it even though it has not been 4 months?
UPDATE
Well I should've upgraded online when I had the chance. Now it is saying error.
I was on the phone with a rep setting up my account. When i answered "google voice" for carrier, the rep went "Hmmm" and the line disconnected.
So before I retry want to make sure telling them google voice is perfectly ok. Any more gotcha's to worry about for google voice port.

If you had bought the Universal/Unlocked model from Samsung instead of the Verizon version, it would have been eligible on both carriers. If it came with a Verizon SIM in it, it is not the Universal/Unlocked version.

It didn't say anything about a plan change in the phone selection or check out process.
UPDATE
I cancelled my upgrades. I want to keep my free lines.
If I have 5 free BYOD lines, and then I upgrade only 1 of the lines, do I lose all 5 free lines or lose just the 1 free line that updated?
