If it works on sprint. Then yes.
How do I know if it works on Sprint? Target sells the Total Wireless iPhone SE.

Try the IMEI in the eligibility checker.

Basically I have an extra Sprint locked Essential Phone that i recently paid off. I asked them to unlock it. But they said I need to have this phone active on Sprint for 50 days. Can I do this BYOD with my GV number and wait for 50 days. and then request unlock after that? any experience with that, anybody?
You can port in GV number on BYOD line with the Essential you got for sure. I did it.

Yes unless it was sold initially for use on Sprint Prepaid/Boost or has a balance owing..

But ONLY AFTER you get LiterallyUnlimited to flip the ownnership flag from PLBL to SPCS.

This can only be done after you take it off Tello.

Until you flip the flag it will fail the eligibilty check (and cannot be swapped on either)..

It would have been easier to answer if you had given the entire history of the phone.
Thanks @comintel for your reply. The phone was bought outright directly from Samsung during one of their promotions. It was not sold initially for prepaid and has no balance owing. I assume that the phone will be good and I will also not require the ownership flag flip. Is that interpretation correct?

Almost, except since it has been on an mvno you will just have to have the ownership flag flipped. After you take it off the mvno, you can try it without the flip first and you will find you will get an error which will say something like a balance may be owing. Then get the flag flipped and it will go right through. Sprint can do it for you too in theory too but many front-line technical support staff do not know how do it and may give you misleading information at first that it is not eligible. So I think it is easier just to ask LiterallyUnlimited to do it as he gets it right first time.

I have gone through this with other people and they always doubt that they will have to flip the flag, but later find out I am right.

HI Anyone knows why my AT&T iPhone 6s+ cannot pass the eligibility check? It is still under AT&T contract but the contract ends sometime next week.

Also does it have any commitment after Sprint one year free period? Thanks.

Total wireless iphone se should be sim locked to total wireless/tracphone for 12 months.
After unlock, it will work on Sprint but is missing band 41 for Sprints best lte connection.

After you swap out the phone from Tello, open a chat with Tello and have them change the flag from PLBL to SPCS.

I just activated a new unlocked moto g5 plus and ported out of republic wireless. Everything is working good. Is it possible for me to move my current sim to another unlocked device and use without calling sprint ?

Anyone else getting 404 error message when trying to upgrade a phone? I go to Dashboard > and click on Upgrade next to "Your Moto G4 Plus qualifies for an upgrade." This takes me to a screen with " Select a phone to upgrade" and when I click on my phone number it redirects me to 404 error page.
