This happens when folks do not follow the wiki. Not sure something can be done. Few folks have got it corrected by calling the promo number and also emailing a sprint employee.. search this thread for it. If nothing works get out of the plan within 14 days. Open new account on your spouses name or family member and port back ..

For folks to avoid this - ask this Q's when trying to get this plan.
Did you call the promo number listed in wiki? Did you ask them for BYOD Free plan? Did you ask them to read out the plan, charges and ask them to send a email and confirm what the plan is?
Yes, I called promo number, I asked for BYOD free plan, also the rep read the plan details with the charges and confirmed $5 per month after auto charge discount. I did everything as mentioned in wiki.

Not sure, if it's rep's mistake or a glitch in their system it applied $45/2 GB plan.

That's bad luck.. search for the sprint contact in this thread. I would call the promo number again and ask them to fix it. Hopefully it works

Edit: Contact [email protected]. Her team should be able to fix.

You can upgrade using Sprint website or calling telesales only -- do not upgrade in Sprint stores or any 3rd party retailer (BB/Sams/etc) b/c you will lose your free plan

Essential phone is the best deal right now for $25 down + $90 lease payoff ($5x18mo) + $30 purchase option = $145 total + tax to own it

https://slickdeals.net/f/10772655-sprint-essential-phone-5-m-with-flex-lease?v=1

You can also add paid lines and cancel them out if you want a phone -- I did that with the Essential phone since my free lines aren't eligible for upgrade yet

BB has LG G6 deal which most people going for (buying phone, paying off, canceling line) -- BB also has $350 off S8/Note8 deal going on

I feared as much re the VZW.
If you have an invoice that says it was to be the unbranded model then I would ask for replacement within the one year warranty since it will not activate on Sprint - and insist the replacement match the invoice.

Unfortunately (and totally unacceptably) that does not necessarily mean you can get it. They seem to use a common web site for free and paid plans.

Tidal, Premiere International Experience, etc. are there too but they will cancel them or give you only a 30 day trial if you select them on a free plan. I selected Premier Intl Experience 3 times and it seems to go through and is even confirmed but they cancel it the next day.

No by all means give it a try but other people on Howard Forums tried and as far as I can tell all failed.

I would love to be proved wrong but I have yet to see a single person here or elsewhere on the free plan report they were able to get it and keep it (other than a 30 day trial).

I think it is a fine experiment to try but I just do not want people to get their hopes up too high because Tidal was along the same lines in my view and so was Premiere Intl Experience.

So I had one BYOD-free line, and then ordered two Essential phones on the $45 plan. I haven't even receved them yet, so I'm yet to activate them, but Sprint called me and said I can't have both the BYOD-free and the paid plans on the same account. They told me to call back after receiving their phones.

Anyone else experience this?

Posted in the Essential thread as well.
Any update? Did you get to keep your free BYOD line?
