So that means even if this offer ends say tomorrow, as long as I have one BYOD line activated, this means I can add a new BYOD line two months from now (I understand the end date would be the same as the first line's). Thanks.
no..i dont think thats correct

What a nightmare. I wasted about 3 hours, most of it on phone chat to get a Moto E to work. Received 3 bad sim cards from Sprint, or at least that is what they claimed.

Trying to buy this will remind you why you don't want to use Sprint even if it is free.

I've wasted more than 3 hours. Dealing with SPrint is worse than being in hell. After explaining to the supervisor about being disconnected after hours, he assures me multiple times, he will call back if we get disconnected, guess what we got disconnected and he didnt call back

Possibly because I had a previous account I could not complete the transaction online. It took 4 calls to telesales until I got someone who could help. Do NOT listen to them when they say you need customer care or to go into a Sprint store. Those are incorrect. Telesales is the ONLY department that can help. The number I used that they were finally able to help me is 1-866-782-8777.

They are so dense. I keep getting transferred to wrong departments and disconnected. They always transfer try to transfer me to customer care.... and supervisors and they drop off - I keep on having to start over

UGGGH - I need high dosage of Xanax from dealing with Sprint!!!!

Got it! So final question when adding a line let's say after 120 days when I can upgrade, do I have to trade in my original phone (pixel) to buy/lease new Sprint phone for the new 2nd line or I can just get a new Sprint phone and use it with the free for a year second line ?
We will not know for sure until those circumstances first arise.

I can only go by the exact wording in the offer:
"Add a line at any time with port-in from postpaid carrier and Bring Your Own Eligible Phone up to the max. number of lines & get promotional pricing until 1/31/2019."

Similar wording but with earlier end dates was in earlier versions of this offer, including the one you signed up under.

That is all we have to go by. Personally my interpretation of "at any time" would mean you can add a new line at any time, but some think/guess otherwise.

This is a matter of interpreting the official wording:
"Add a line at any time with port-in from postpaid carrier and Bring Your Own Eligible Phone up to the max. number of lines & get promotional pricing until 1/31/2019."

You can make your own interpretation.

Personally I think it is significant that the offer you signed up under is already closed to new signups (although newer similar offers are still open), and yet they are still allowing continuing activations of additional lines under the terms if that old offer, so I think you will be able to continue doing so even after newer offers also close to new takers. Sprint's lawyers do not usualy approve official wording casually. But anything is possible.

Still dealing with them. Spending hours of wasted time going in circles. They finally said I have to pay off my balance on my other account even though it will be credited back next billing cycle in order to create a new account. So I did, and then once the payment was processed they disconnected me and back to ground zero, and out $111 bucks that I will probably have to fight for next month to get credited back to a closed account

Anyone have any inside info on tomorrow 11/30 being the last day for this free BYOD promo or will it be 12/31?
Based on the 1/31/2019 end of free service date it appears that 12/31/2017 will be the last day.

Last day for this most recent offer was previously quoted by a Sprint employee as Friday 12/1. It may as you say be followed by another nearly identical offer with a later expiry date.

Anyone have any suggestions how to get new and cheap smartphones that will work on Sprint postpaid? I have opened the free BYOD lines but stuck with old flip phones and smartphones on Android version 2. I was going to buy the MetroPCS deal for 4 free Samsung J7 but was told that they can't be used on Sprint after unlock.

I just received an Essential that Sprint wouldn't let me cancel, but $160 seems like a lot. My past phone purchases were $25-40 for things like LG Tribute to use on free Ringplus.

Hope this isn't a repeat, but a further confirmation that you're on the free (+ taxes and fees) plan is that you might receive an email like I did this morning.

Subject: See how much you're saving by joining Sprint.

Dear (my name),

You've made a great choice with the Unlimited–Bring Your Phone Plan! You are well on your way to saving $900 in your first year with Sprint, compared to Verizon's 1-line unlimited plan. You get Unlimited Data, Talk and Text service absolutely free until 1/31/19 AND we've waived your activation fee! All this while you keep your same phone, phone number, special photos and fav apps and music.

Savings until 1/31/19; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2, and $30/mo. per line for lines 3-5. Reqs. AutoPay (discount applied w/in 2 invoices), new account, bring your own eligible device & Sprint SIM card. Savings claim compared to Verizon Unlimited rate plan for 1 line as of 9/26/17. Streams video up to HD 1080p, music up to 1.5mbps, gaming up to 8mbps. Data deprioritization during congestion. Other monthly charges apply.

I have bought two Sprint postpaid Tribute HD's on EBay for this offer for about $30 with slightly cracked screens. Note you cannot use Prepaid Tribute HD's. These are the same physical phone but you cannot ever activate one that is of prepaid origin, including Boost, because these were sold subsidized and are not eligible.

The vast majority on Ebay are of Boost origin and these CANNOT be activated on Postpaid regardless of "Fed Date" and regardless of the fact they work fine on Tello etc. You have to hunt far and wide on EBay to find one that you can establish is of postpaid origin and that the seller will give assurances that that is the case(which is not easy).

Also if a phone was of postpaid origin, but was later used on an MVNO, it will NOT qualify until you get the ownership flag flipped from PLBL back to SPCS. (However flipping that flag on a prepaid-origin phone will NOT qualify such a phone).

Question:

Account opened a few days ago but it already shows upgrade eligible and there are 2 offers on MySprint:
One, to open a new line and get a $50 off the bill, and
Two,Upgrade now and we'll waive the $30 activation fee.

BUT, according to Sprint if you upgrade before 4 months after you open the account you'll lose the free BYOD plan and you'll be switched to the paid plan.

Is it possible to upgrade in this case with this promo offer and NOT lose the free BYOD plan?
