Anyone who joined Sprint in August got their upgrade eligibility changed?
I joined the first week of August. It's still showing:

"These phones aren't upgrade-eligible yet."
"Upgrade available on: 8-1-2019 - 606 days"

According to the current terms on the Sprint website (see below), you are eligible 4 months after you activate a line.

It always says a ridiculous date until the day you are eligible (the web pages have not been fully revised for the free offer). You can call them if you would like confirmation of the date.

People who activated earlier should be able to upgrade as per the terms in effect when they first activated. Actually, there have been reports that you can upgrade a bit earlier if you call in to the 8777 number. So I would suggest people give that a try if they are in the ballpark.

Quote :
Upgrades for the lines activated on the Free Unlimited plan will be allowed after 4 months of service. At that time, return to sprint.com and log in to your account to purchase/lease your new phone. When it arrives, visit www.sprint.com/activate to activate the new phone. Any upgrades prior to the 4 months or in a retail location will require a plan change to the Unlimited data, talk and text plan which starts at $60 per month after an AutoPay discount. Unfortunately, you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service if you upgrade early or purchase/lease your new phone in a retail location.

Well then they changed because eligibility has always fallen on the second day of the month. All signups during the month of July were eligible on 11/2. No difference if you signed up on 7/1 or 7/31. Signups during the month of August should have been eligible on 12/2.

Since your phone was on Tello(sprint mvno) for a time the flag is probably set to PLBL. It needs to be set to SPCS. Message literallyunlimited on Reddit he can probably change flag for you. Then it should pass eligibility checker.
You can PM him on slickdeals or reddit.#4

Successfully ported from Google Fi-> Google voice -> Sprint.

Called Fi after my number ported to Google voice to deregister my number from Sprint network and I became eligible. until then it kept showing ineligible for the offer

I had a Sprint account 14 months back, had to call Sprint and clear the account which helped my credit check go through.

Called the Sprint porting number and phone was active in 5 minutes.

Purchased a new Samsung note 8 and used it directly to activate. Originally had a nexus 6p which I just switched off after moving to Google voice

i tried to sign up online but it did not go through in the credit check. and then i called the number provided on failed message screen. they said it's due to existing credit check record. they removed it manually and did the credit check again and told me to contact 8777 number. 8777 rep set it up without any issues. it's GV number i ported.

from wiki:

Old upgrade terms in Sept:
If you signed up for the offer before 8/1/17, you can upgrade to a new Sprint phone by leasing or purchasing it in monthly installements after 10/1/17, and you'll still enjoy your free year of service. Any upgrades prior to 10/1/17 will require a plan change to Unlimited data, talk and text and you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

If you signed up 8/1/17 or later, you can upgrade to a new Sprint phone by leasing or purchasing it in monthly installements after 12/1/17, and you'll still enjoy your free year of service. Any upgrades prior to 12/1/17 will require a plan change to Unlimited data, talk and text and you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

Does anyone have screen shots of the terms in August? Because they are not honoring the upgrade terms.

The A1662 will work on Sprint but does not support lte band 41(2.5Ghz) so may impact data performance. But it does support CDMA and band 25,26.
iPhone SE
A1723 - Sprint Model Number
A1662 - Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile Model Numbers (Doesn't support Band 41)
