Does anyone knows how they determine if the phone is compatible?

I ported from Lyca (T-mobile) after buying a moto g5+, But also wanted to port an iPhone 6+ that we bought at apple store unlocked years ago and is now running on Lyca. but sprint website does not accept the phone.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Check ting byod. If passes ting for cdma then probably will need a PLBL flag flip.

But I thought I saw in the main post that this is only available online and people should not sign up for this by phone?
Quote from comintel :
You can use an old sim card, yes, but only if it is the correct sim card for the model of phone you are activating. There are about 30 Sprint sim cards and you have to have the right one.

See https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card for a list.

If you use you own sim card, you can not sign up online and must instead call the 8777 number.

One-year of Sprint's Unlimited service plan for up to 5 lines for FREE plus taxes/fees (about $3 to $5/mo total per line).

To get this deal, you must switch your service from a major US carrier to Sprint, and ◾You are not in a service contract, and
◾Your phone(s) are fully paid off and not on lease, and
◾Your credit is good, and
◾You get the deal directly from Sprint as described below (not in-store), and
◾Agree to get bills online only (not paper bills via US Mail).
With the deal, you get: ◾Unlimited data, talk, and text free for 1 year.
◾Keep your current phone and phone number.
◾No contracts. Cancel anytime.
◾Up to 5 lines.
◾Data usage over 23GB in a month may be throttled.
Your existing phone(s) must remain working for the next 4 months. If you want a new phone before 4 months, consider purchasing a new phone before activating the SIM card Sprint sends to you. They can send you a SIM card for a phone you don't have yet.

To get the deal: 1.Call your existing plan customer service and verify your full account number and PIN: ◾Verizon customer service: 800-922-0204
◾AT&T Wireless customer service: 800-331-0500
◾T-Mobile customer service: 877-746-0909
You will need your old account and PIN to get this 1-year free promotion from Sprint.
2.Call 866-782-8777 to sign up, and mention the Free Unlimited for a Year promotion. If you prefer to order this deal through the Sprint website, they will charge you a fee for each SIM card ($3 each).
3.Ask for Sprint SIM card(s) for each phone line you want to transfer to Sprint. The SIM card(s) are free when you call (saves $3/each), plus $10 total shipping fee.
4.Wait a couple days for the Sprint SIM cards to arrive.
5.You have a choice. Either: ◾Transfer your existing LTE-capable phone (list of eligible phones are shown on the bottom of their page), or
◾Buy a new, unlocked phone. The phone cannot be leased, and must be a full price phone and not locked in to any plan or offering. Phones purchased from Sprint.com will be eligible, but phones purchased from a Sprint store are not eligible with this promotion because the store reps may have locked store-bought phones to Sprint, voiding this 1-year free plan because the phone is not unlocked.

6.Call Sprint to activate and transfer your number(s) with the Sprint SIM card(s) they sent you. Remember, to be eligible, each phone number must be transferred from an active Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T account.
Your actual monthly bill will be free plus government taxes, which totals up to about $3 or $5 per month per line.

This deal may expire soon, so consider activating your new SIM cards as soon as you can.

If you decide to stay with Sprint after January of 2019, you will pay regular price for the service which is $60/mo for the first line, $40/mo for the second, and $15/mo each additional line. Since there's no contract, you can cancel the service or negotiate a better plan at that time.

The phone(s) activated with this promotion must remain working for 4 months of Sprint service. If you switch phones within 4 months, you lose the 1-year free service promotion.

After 4 months, you can purchase or lease a new phone and remain on the 1-year free plan, but only by calling Sprint customer service (not in-store).

If your phone is replaced prior to 4 months of service, or if you change/active service with a phone purchased from a Sprint store, you will lose your remaining free months of Sprint service.

The 8777 number is the sole exception as it is specifically designated for all phone support of this online-only offer and so is considered a main part of this online-only offer. A zillion people including me, my friends, and piles of people here signed up that way. Undoubedly thousands of people sign up vi that number. It will be close second to a fully-onlne signup (which cannot be complete entirely online in many half the cases anyway).

What you should NOT DO is call any OTHER number than the 8777 number, or go to a store, or call Sprint general numbers.

Yes those are the basics and starting point and are quoted right at the start of this thread, but many many aspects of the Sprint wording are misleading or confusing, and people have spent a great deal of time and effort here clarifying the exact operation of this program in the wiki and this thread. That includes what additional unlisted phones are eligible, how to interpret and fix certain common errors, and many other aspects. What you posted should be read, but is far from a definitive reference.

So the terms and conditions of the offer say that it can not be combinable with any other offer and it lists "Premium International Experience" as one of these offers. Anyone know for sure if that means you can't call mexico/Canada or roam to those countries for free under this promo?

Also.. If I want to start a new account under this promo with an unlocked phone, am I able to do that for a fifth line? In other words it would be a like that wouldn't be ported in, but it'd be a new phone number.

You cannot Canada call free on this offer and in fact it is prohibitively expensive to do so. You can roam but only at 2G unless you buy an add-on. I am in the same boat on that. I have to use Hangouts to call Canada free. It is ridiculous because Sprint mvno Tello is only one cent a minute to Canada.

You cannot start a line on this promo without porting in a number. But you can port in an arbitrary Google Voice number ($3).

I would suggest trying the online form first. Take human error out of the equation. And if you have 2 lines to port, do them both on online form. Otherwise you have to call in the 2nd, which can lead to human error. They entered my area code wrong, which took 3 long days correcting, and almost caused my phone # of 20 years to vanish.

I'll potentially have four port ins and maybe a fifth new line activation.

I did this deal back in July switched from Verizon. Just saw I can add more lines on this plan if I bring my own device. So I added a line and will drop the original in July and extend the free service for another 6 months. I pay $3.13 a month now and get free Tidal Hifi. Just saw they have a Hulu promo now.

Did you add it online or do you have to call the promo number?

Do as many as you can online to start. Any late comers will have to be done on the phone. It's $12.95 + tax shipped for the 1st sim card, but additional ones on same shipment will only be roughly $3.

And, of course, get your BYOD account set up before adding any new paid lines. Otherwise you won't be eligible for BYOD at all.
