I did this deal back in July switched from Verizon. Just saw I can add more lines on this plan if I bring my own device. So I added a line and will drop the original in July and extend the free service for another 6 months. I pay $3.13 a month now and get free Tidal Hifi. Just saw they have a Hulu promo now.

Better check on that. I added a 2nd BYOD line later, and it kept the original BYOD line's expiration. My wife then had to start a new BYOD account, and port out mine and back to her's to get the 1/31/19 expiration.

Correct - additional lines added later get the expiry date of your first line.

There is no way around this except use a different SSN.

Even if you cancel the service you have to be off for 45 days before you can start over.

Did you add it online or do you have to call the promo number?
You can only do the initital BYOD setup online (or by phone). Any lines added after must be done through the same 866 # in the wiki

You cannot get either Tidal or Hulu on this plan (you will find they will just be short trials) and you cannot get a later end date in adding more lines unless you use a different SSN.

I know the online dashboard looks like you can and they should be ashamed of themselves for not fixing that.

The above is not true. You better correct it before Bruce Lee rises from his grave and hits you with his nunchaku.

You can swap deice anytime. You cannot upgrade the line with a new device (i.e., purchase a new device as upgrade on that line) before fulfilling that requirement he posted.

In practice, you can IMEI swap phones at any time (no 4 month wait needed) to a different phone you already own free and clear provided you do it through technical support chat or self serve (best AVOID the 8777 number and all retail channels for IMEI device swaps).

If you do it through the 8777 number, they sometimes get confused and mix it up with an upgrade to a special Sprint phone discount deal. (In fact, this is exactly what a lot of people are trying to do - stack together two offers including this one). That you cannot do for 4 months.

But if you are just IMEI swapping to another phone (that is not a special sale offer that you are trying to get away with stacking on) you can do it any time, no 4 month wait needed.

The phone(s) activated with this promotion must remain working for 4 months of Sprint service. If you switch phones within 4 months, you lose the 1-year free service promotion.

After 4 months, you can purchase or lease a new phone and remain on the 1-year free plan, but only by calling Sprint customer service (not in-store).

If your phone is replaced prior to 4 months of service, or if you change/active service with a phone purchased from a Sprint store, you will lose your remaining free months of Sprint service.
Did Sprint write this part? Looks very professional. Scary if true. Embarrassment

I recall needgeech saying he was unable to switch in an unlocked phone without changing the free plan to the $60 plan in one of his recent posts, and noted that it has worked before.

Quote from needgeech :
My universally unlocked moto G5+, which has served as placeholder back and forth between my and wifey's accounts, now triggers a BYOD>>>$60/mo change when trying to put it back onto another G5+ line on BYOD. And ironically to its original Sprint account. Its been 5 days since pulling out of service.

That did not happen in previous swaps. And Ting + sprint BYOD checkers are all clear. Given this change, don't want to "chat" swap this time??? Wasn't expecting to have to move this walmart non carrier phone through TMO-pp or TW to "clean" it when I did not have to do such before. . .

Anybody experience this?

My Moto e4 is on the eligible list. But after entering IMEI number website said ineligible for the offer. Is it the Sim?

Headed to the dark side from AT&T -- saving $90/month on 2 lines for next year is too good to pass up
