Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Not to start a fight about sim cards, but sprint does have seperate BYOD sim cards. they are just like other sim cards but come with retail packaging instead of literally just the credit card looking thing.

Anyone having trouble activating a used/refurb phone? I bought 2 HTC A9 from amazon and sprint is telling me they cant be activated, but they are sprint phones so what gives?
Of course there is various packaging but no difference in behavior. The statement that had been made is that you have to be careful to get a special kind of sim card for this offer. You do not. I have used wholesale sim cards and retail sim cards. Either will work fine.

As to the HTC A9, first of all you have to make sure they were sold for use on Sprint Postpaid originally (not subsisized on Prepaid)..

If they were sold for use on Sprint Postpaid originally alright, but later used on an MVNO, them you have to ask https://www.reddit.com/user/LiterallyUnlimited to flip the ownership flag from PLBL back to SPCS. He will do it free if you contact him on Reddit.

I got two free Sprint SIM cards. One of the apple store and one from a Sprint store, both were the credit card looking things. I was able to successfully activate the one from Sprint so far.

Ahhh got you, yes from my experience all sim cards perform the same.

Thank you for the help i had no idea it mattered where the phone originally came from. I might just end up shipping these back to Amazon. Seems really stupid sprint wont activate a sprint branded phone lol.

I see Boost A9 listed on Amazon. Yes unfortunately I can tell you Sprint will never allow those to be activated on Postpaid.

Often they sell a phone model at two different prices, low for Boost and much higher for postpaid. For this scheme to hold up, they think they have to prevent leakage of Prepaid models onto Postpaid and they go to great lengths to prevent that from happening.

You still need to be careful - Sprint still considers some SIMs "compatible" with a specific phone and some not. I activated an iPhone 6 - and the more modern SIM cards would not work, it needed to be the correct SKU. I didn't believe it at first myself as SIM should be SIM... I tried 3 different SIM cards until I gave up and shopped for a "compatible" one.

The Sprint stores - even the corporate Sprint store - did NOT have a matching SIM card, as an iPhone 6 is too old - I went to Best Buy and they had 77 on stock for $4.99 each. The non-corporate Sprint store even wanted to charge $35 plus tax for a darn SIM card.
A Sprint store with a repair center will stock "legacy" SIM cards. So depending on the phone model, you might need a "corporate Sprint store with a repair/service center".

The information about the SIM cards is already linked in the initial article/Wiki posts... so - I am sorry for repeating it.

Nice: It seems Free Hulu also works for this plan version.

Absolutely correct.

There are about 30 different Sprint sim part numbers and you need to use the single part number designated by Sprint for a given model phone. (Sometimes a couple are listed as ok for a given model phone).

The most recent ones are listed by part number by phone model at https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card (some older sim part numbers that also work are omitted).

This has nothing to do with whether it is a "BYOD Sim" or not. There is no such thing as a BYOD specidic Sim, Any sim part is either correct or not for a given model, by part nunber, irrespective of what kind of plan it is on or what packaging the sim part comes in as long as it is the right part number. I know you know that, but some people were posting that you had to go and get a "BYOD sim" for this plan.

People just need to look up the correct sim part number for their model phone and go get it, period. If they are not in a rush they can order it for $2.99 from Twigby. Apple stores give them away free for iPhones (in person only and cannot be confirmed ahead by phone).

If the phone is already working on Sprint or Boost or a Sprint MVNO, and the IMEI is accepted by Sprint postpaid, the sim in it is fine and they do not need a new sim at all. Some people were erronously being told they had a get a new sim in such cases. This is not GSM and GSM practices do not apply.

Free Hulu may be just for a few days. They made it free for everyone for the Holidays.

Ported 2 iPhone 6 to this plan. They are the same model, one from Sprint before, one from Apple store. The one from Sprint works fine, with LTE data. The one from Apple has only 3G data, no LTE data. I called Sprint 1-866-782.8777 and 1-888-211-4727, they asked me to reset all the related settings on iPhone, ##873283#, etc., none worked. I even got a new SIM and had it reset to the phone, it still showed 3G Data, no LTE data. I even went to Sprint Repair Center, they tried all these, did not work. Anybody knows how to fix it? Thanks.

Post Edit: See later posts.
It appears that this phone lacks band 41 but should work in Sprint otherwise if unlocked.

Check if there are locks on it as per:

In all probability so but they reserve the right to end it earlier if they wish (which is unlikely).
