Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Wait, you cannot add the premium international for a fee?
Nope. It says ok if you add it but it does not actually get added. I spoke to various reps to no avail.
They give you the lower-value Global Roaming package instead and you can add various add-ons one by one to that.
But by default, call to Canada are prohibitively expensive at 49 cents a minute. They are one cent on Tello which uses Sprint and free on the main Sprint paid plan.
So I am not actually going to be all that sad when this plan ends.

It has been over 12 hours since i signed up for it.. I ported my number from Freedompop and the porting status is still pending. how long does it normally take to get your old number ported?
Yes it can with FreedomPop because those are VOIP numbers. But call Sprint's porting dept. and maybe they can speed it up. The number for the porting dept. is in the wiki.

I appreciated the pointer. However when I tried this online, an error occurred at the last step. Maybe there is a certain period of time after a new account is open when you cannot get a new phone number?

What are the part numbers MGxxxLL/A of both iPhones as printed on the boxes or found under settings?

Finally figured out the problem with iPhone 6 without LTE Data (Only 3G Data).

The problem was due to a Profile named "LTE APN". (Settings>General>Profiles - Right below "VPN". There may not be "Profile" on the Menu, depending on the carrier used before.). Deleted this Profile, then LTE Data signal showed up! This Profile was probably from the previous carrier.

The Model of the iPhone 6 is A1586, both "SIMGLW436C" and "SIMOLW506C" SIM cards work for this model (Sprint did switched SIM cards for me, did not help with the LTE Data issue.)

Hope this helps.

I am curious about this also as I have a similar issue of 3G only with an Iphone SE
Could be a few things such as faulty SIM (because LTE data is provisioned through SIM), corrupted profile on device, data provision error on Sprint's side, number porting is not 100% completed, etc.

I would try to troubleshoot with the user's/device's side first before contacting Sprint if the error is on the Sprint's side. Error from Sprint's side usually fixes itself after 48 hours.

Do factory reset and carrier reset on the device or do factory restore using iTunes. Also search for edog11's posts on how to refresh/update profile. Post back here with your SIM's part number and iPhone's part number if none of these fix your problem.

I see Boost A9 listed on Amazon. Yes unfortunately I can tell you Sprint will never allow those to be activated on Postpaid.

Often they sell a phone model at two different prices, low for Boost and much higher for postpaid. For this scheme to hold up, they think they have to prevent leakage of Prepaid models onto Postpaid and they go to great lengths to prevent that from happening.
The ones I bought were supposedly sprint. I called to activate and they said they need a special sim to work, but theyll be able to activate it once i get the sim cards... well see how it goes. crossing my fingers.

Oh good that sounds promising as long as it did not say Boost or Sprint Prepaid in the listing (or more acurately as long as Sprint does not identify it as being a Boost rmodel).

I am sure they checked the IMEI, so you should hopefully be fine.

OK ordered some sim cards and hopefully they get here and I can still get on the deal. I really want to put my Nexus 6 on the line but it won't take the IMEI. My understanding is that since it was from Google fi they consider that already on the Sprint network and won't give me the promo for that phone. I hear other people port it out to Google Voice but I actually want to keep Google Fi. Eg I can swap the Google Fi Sim into another phone whenever I travel abroad since it's unlimited international.

My plan is to buy a brand new apple iphone 6s from the apple store then activate then swap the phone to my Nexus then return the phone back to apple. This should be no problem right? Good work around for people with Nexus or "ineligible" IMEI phones even if the phones will work fine... Has anyone tried something like this.

Can anyone tell what is the bill amount shown in final bill under free plan(is it $5 or some amount - promo credit)
It's going to depend on your area and how many lines you have. Search https://slickdeals.net/f/10235008-sprint-byod-1-year-unlimited-talk-text-data-free-w-eligible-device-sim-req?v=1 for LIST YOUR ZIP CODE.

Mine was $4.07 and I added my entry there.

Both the bills I've received so far are for $4.07 in total. For my most recent: there's $5/mo for the service but a $5 autopay discount. Then there's $2.39 in Sprint surcharges and $1.68 in my city's taxes.

I'm so far very happy with the service for this bargain price. Previously, I was paying about $62 or $63/mo with AT&T on the old "unlimited" data plan w/voice and no text message plan. Then it crept up to ~$66 and more recently, about $70/mo.

You cannot simply move sims from one phone to another on Sprint to automatically move the service from one phone to the other. I realize you can do that on other carriers.

On Sprint, you can swap phones on your plan on the dashboard, but everything goes by the new device IMEI, not by the sim, which plays no role.

The phone's IMEI will have to qualify at swap time just the same as it would for initial activation.

So it will not work unfortunately in my opinion (irrespective of whether the phones take the same sim part number, which you may or may not have checked - Sprint has about 30 sim parts and you have to have the specific right sim for your model). .

1. Used it on Verizon account, and just have it laying around after upgrading to newer one. Dad uses this phone as iPod.
2. MD658LL/A.
3. Your phone is compatible with Ting.
If your Apple iPhone 5 (A1429) is unlocked you can bring it to Ting today! It will support the following services on our GSM network. Only 2G is shown as one that would work.
Try the IMEI on the Sprint BYOD again. If it still rejects it, call/chat with Sprint L2 Tech Support and ask to add the IMEI onto the Sprint IMEI database using their DNA2 Tool. May have to try a few times because most Sprint employees are clueless and/or not well-trained. Also make sure you get the correct Sprint SIM with part number SIMGLW406R. Many people have reported that SIMGLW406R is getting harder to find because it's discontinued, so search on Amazon, eBay, Ting, etc. Most stores (Apple, Sprint, BB, etc.) have stopped carrying this SIM. Keep in mind that all iPhones 5 (Verizon/Sprint/KDDI) support only LTE band 25 on the Sprint network, so you won't get LTE Plus (3-channel carrier aggregation, also formerly known as Sprint Spark). Good luck.

Call/ chat with Sprint, and tell them that the website gives you error. They will do it for you for free.

Hmm I believe to sign up for the promo IMEI would need to qualify but after it starts working I would assume you could swap to Nexus 6 through the dashboard

Nexus 6 works fine on Sprint I assume if you got regular line. Just doesn't work on Sprint Unlimited free plan initial signup because it's coming from a Sprint Coshare (Google Fi).

Are sprint phones eligible for promo? So if you have Sprint branded iphone X for example then slip a Verizon sim into it then it works. But this phone would be already on the Sprint network so sprint wouldn't allow port in deal.

While not conclusive, I tried this with existing phones at the Sprint store - I went and copied their IMEI into the website and it said ineligible though they would clearly work on a regular Sprint line.

Just an update.

My initial problems with sprint were all customer service related. As long as you don't have to deal with them everything is great in my experience.

5 lines in VA for 15 and change a month.
2 Nexus 6
iPhone 5s
Moto e4 plus
Moto g5 plus

1 ported in from project file
4 from T-Mobile pay as you go (0 cost funding)

One thing I noticed on the Nexus 6 is that after reboots, sometime the APN gets changed from internet to cdma which then causes no LTE access.

Great deal, especially if it's extended!
