Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

good info..thanks..repped

1. what if u dont have a phone (unlocked/gsm etc) to put the sim cards in? then what?
TMO SIMs are "plug-and-play" with no IMEIs associated with them. If TMO reps ask for IMEIs, just give them dummy IMEIs or tell them you have not received the phones but want to set up the SIMs beforehand and they will just enter dummy IMEIs for you. The default dummy IMEI they use is all 9. If any rep refuses to do it; hang up, go make love, and then try again. The same for not funding the account; if any rep says no, hang out, go make love, and then try again.

It is $10 each plus $5.49 shipping fee.
You have to add four or more cards to get free shipping. If you are Elite or Elite Plus, no minimum for free shipping. Don't put all eggs into one basket though as ahallslickdeal pointed out above. Also, Ting hates "false churn" (see below), so do it quietly (no human interaction) and don't over do it or Ting will spank you Big Grin

Just checked my device, it is iPhone 6s Plus. So, I guess this supports 'Sprint LTE Plus Network'.
Glad to hear! Sprint LTE Plus is pretty impressive if you are in an area with good signal and not congested.

Yep - I just used a Ting SIM I had laying around to create a new number and port it into Sprint (posted details a few pages ago). It was a GSM SIM I had bought plus some credit left over from the RIngPlus port deal.

Actually, I last used Ting about a year ago, with that one GSM SIM still attached to my account, and when I checked a week, I found that Ting had closed my account (even though I could still login to it) and erased all my remaining Ting credit. My GSM SIM was still listed, though. There was a note saying, "We closed your account and removed your credit - but let us know and we can restore the credit!" I emailed them to ask to do that, and the rep said, "No, can't do that but maybe I'll give you a $10 credit toward a new plan." So then I just called and read the next rep their note about restoring all the credit...and she did.

Anyway - if you accumulate Ting credit, don't be surprised if they pull the same thing on an inactive account after a few months.

The Ting port worked fine except the Sprint rep though it should be only a 4 digit PIN, but Ting's porting PIN was 6 digits. Gave the first Sprint rep a different 4 digit PIN Ting had sent me and of course that didn't work; second porting rep at Sprint tried the 6 digit PIN and that worked immediately.

Nice to know one can buy Ting SIMs at Best Buy!
Thanks for your collaboration, yes I was surprised too that I was able to buy a Ting sim at Best Buy. I was there to buy a boost mobile universal sim kit when I saw that. They said it was just a promotion. I just went to a Best Buy store today and I did not find any of this sim. I just googled it and first thing that came out was this particular sim card available at Best Buy online.

If I have more than a hundred $ Ting credit I will just try to park a phone there until the credit depletes.

It's funny about this pin numbers, xfinity mobile does not have a pin number if you want to port out but as I tried to port out my xfinity number to Ting, porting did not want to go through until I filled out the pin. So I just put in the last 4 digits of my phone number. But the porting took some time so I chat with xfinity mobile and tried to ask for a pin. And while I was on chat and she finally gave me a pin, my porting at Ting went thru with my guessed up last 4 digits.

Exactly correct
You can try 0000 if Sprint says there has to be a pin.
0000 seems to be the default pin for carriers that really don't give you pin numbers. Xfinity mobile is the same, 0000.

Thanks for the replies.

Just one more question:

If I get sim from apple store, can I activate service online (prefer it over human interaction) or I need to call 866-782-8777 to activate service?

My bro is 18 and wants to try this. I'm 100% sure his credit is zilch since he only had one job, no credit accts., and is currently a student. He's tired of waiting for me to decide lol. Is the credit check purely policy related or is a decision still made by Sprint?

edit: "credit approval req" this is why I'm asking.

Is the thinking that Sprint may cancel it in February so if anyone wants to extend the deal they should switch it to new Sprint BYOD account?

Thanks for the reply. So, you mean to say that sprint service is better for you than vzw??
Depends on the area. I wouldn't say better but close to being equal. For example, interstate 80 in PA, never had any coverage w/ Verizon but I did in some areas. It's been similar with Sprint. Certain areas, coverage some not. The biggest difference for me is in home signal. Where I live I have 1 bar on 1x. But if I drive 1/2 mike I have full strength. I use sprint WiFi calling and haven't had any problems.

My credit isn't the greatest and I was approved.
