Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I realize we are going off topic here, but all the questions I get asked with credit stuff are obviously not about me (some person was using my SSN before or something, idk). I think they get their answers from Public Records. I have no idea how to rectify the info on it. So, there really isn't a way to change it to match my actual info?
Guys. My brother was approved for this promo and he is a student. Only had 1 job before and no credit history. Just FYI if you're considering telling your bro, sis, son, daughter, ... grand....well anyways. Just fyi

Sprint (or USPS) does not have the actual data. It just uses a web service API sold to it by Equifax.

I am going to get Equifax to correct mine again when I have time.

They can send you a dump of all data they have on you and you correct it. This is NOT the same as a credit report though - it is much more data - and it is hard to request it. I did so once before. I think you may have to file an identity theft law enforcement report first. (You can use identitytheft.gov to file a report and that qualifies).

I just filed another report and an going to go through it again.

iPad is not allowed on free plan. Check the current live Sprint site.

Or do you mean as a paid add-on?

The problem is not the credit-worthiness.
It is usually proving you are the person you say you are.

The Equifax identity testing question database is full of corrupt data and often people give right answers to the knowledge quiz that are deemed wrong because of corrupt data.
So they conclude you are an imposter and declined.
.
The questions are like: Have you ever owned a Chevrolet Impala? Did you ever live on a street called Clearthrough Rd? etc. They are not credit-related.

Yes they will approve people with next to no credit history. They have said so. They have said the purpose of the check is mainly to catch identity fraud.

Have you checked that the sim is the correct one?
Was the device ever on a Sprint mvno?
Sometimes just testing the IMEI in the Ting tester cleans up the Sprint database entry (because Ting cleans it up on the prepaid side)..

Ported one number in from ATT today. Online credit check required a call to 877 #. No problem, was approved for 5 lines.Port in took about 10 minutes.
Used a recently purchased Moto 4E plus from Amazon. So far works great.
Hope Sprint service has improved since my last swim thru 3 years ago.

Doubtful.... service can be poor but customer service is poor. Each time I think they do something right it is just a rep that is lying to get rid of you.

It is not just Sprint. It is the Equifax identity service they use. The USPS uses the same service and just turned me down for an account because I gave the right answers instead of the wrong ones they were expecting on the basis of their error-filled database. Plus this government agency nonetheless tells me there is no way to correct the database. I had problems with Sprint too but happened to be able to work around them because I figured out the wrong answers they were looking for.
(From way before the infamous Equifax breach) I figured the multiple choice questions (e.g. which of these counties did you live in during year ____?) came from LexisNexis not Equifax.

From quickly digging around on their site, https://risk.lexisnexis.com/produ...id-q-and-a, might be the product. More info at https://risk.lexisnexis.com/-/med...qa-pdf.pdf.

Their PDF even claims

Who Uses InstantID Q&A?
• 3 of the top 10 retailers
• 24 of the top 25 financial institutions
• 4 of the largest telecommunications companies

I believe both offer such services now. I thought it had been posted that Sprint uses the Equifax one. It has definitely been posted that the USPS uses the Equifax one https://krebsonsecurity.com/2017/...ers-dream/
and I think the same for Sprint. The questions from Sprint and the USPS were very similar. Equifax and Lexis Nexis probably share data or maybe Equifax licenses from Lexis Nexis. They have a
lot of partnerships together.. I could be wrong about which one Sprint uses. I guess we need to take on both of them. I will report identity fraud to both of them and ask both to give me a dump of all their data so I can correct i the errors. I did it once before. They do pathetically little checking on their data.

Yeah your sample question is more accurate than mine. I cut back my examples to just give the basic idea.

Thank you for the response!

One follow-up question is that, if I want to use the phone currently on a BYOD account for different BYOD account (i.e., under different SSN), how should I go about that?

If I don't care about keeping the number, would 1) canceling the line to free out the phone, and 2) swapping this phone into the new BYOD line work? If so, how long should I wait between 1) and 2)? My preference is to be able to do this with minimum downtime.

If porting-out and letting the number expire (just to remove the number from the old BYOD line) is better/faster as a substitute of step 1), what would be the cheapest way to do that?

Finally, either for porting-out or canceling, can the sprint SIM card on the new BYOD line be re-used for swapping/activating the phone from the old BYOD account, granted that both BYOD accounts were activated with SIM compatible for iphone?

Original questions were:
I have a question about porting one free-BYOD number (out 3 lines, while leaving other two intact) out of sprint.

1. Would porting-out one number affect the other two free-BYOD sprint lines? I plan to keep them at least until the end of promo (July/2018). My concern is the account/pin numbers to give for port-out (which are linked to other two numbers)

2. Can the iphone (used on the to-be-ported-out line) be swapped into another free-BYOD sprint account (under different SSN and until Jan/2019)? If so, does this device-swap need to be done after or prior to port-out?

Quote from JaTaN :
Porting out one line doesn't do anything to the other lines -- you need to give phone number + account number + PIN to port out and each line has a unique phone number to separate them

If a phone is currently being used on an active Sprint line then you can't use it on another active Sprint line -- same phone can't be used on 2 active lines at the same time
