Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I am not sure I follow where you say "clean IMEI" and then "device already registered".
Everything is registered directly by IMEI on your Sprint account. ICCID is all but irrelevant except you have to have one of the exact correct part number for that device.

If a device already has a Sprint sim, it does need a new one at all. Sims never expire on Sprint and can always be reused. The situation is different from GSM in a number of ways.

If you are talking about moving the service from one device to another just by moving the sim, you cannot do that. But you can swap devices instead on the Dashboard.
Sure, let me explain. I was going to use someone else's non-Sprint IMEI to sign up for a new line for my parents, who are already on Sprint from the original deal. I was curious if I popped in the new SIM from the new line into their phones, if the new phone # would work on the their device (like most other carriers do). I think you answered my question with the last comment about swapping. In reality, I am just opening up the new account and eating the fees until I have to cancel the older promo.

Very good. No you cannot just pop sims around usefully on Sprint.
As to "use someone else's non-Sprint IMEI ", the phone model would of course have to be eligible (maybe a univeral phone if not a Sprint phone). I am sure you know that.

I have purchased iPhone 6s Plus from eBay and is using on my T-mobile account without any issues. But when I try to port to Sprint BYOD plan it is saying in-compatible. This was former Sprint phone but that should not be issue. Right? Please help.

Thanks for confirming and repped. Do you know if there have been reports of Sprint shutting down accounts if there is no phone activity?

You have to set up your logon first and log on.

But sure you can call if you want.
I just activated the account. They didn't transfer me to the credit dept, they didn't need to any verification questions--they just approved me within seconds. They also gave me no hassle about the device protection nonsense. The girl told me that they are not allowed to add it if the customer doesn't want it. So, I'm up and running. My reception inside is mediocre --2 to 3 bars and under 5 mbps down, even though their map puts me in their top tier reception-wise. Also, it's slow in sending and receiving texts (took over a minute to receive a text I sent myself and over 20 seconds for it to send). But there are no APN settings at all, which is weird. There is no place to even enter them. They said they'd be sending me a text later today which will do that automatically. Hopefully that will increase my down speed and reception.

Edit: weird, just sent myself an MMS and it sent and was received far faster than the SMS. Sent myself another SMS and still haven't received it. So MMS is so far much faster somehow.

Also, she checked and said this will be the last month of the promo, that they are not extending it again. Don't know how accurate that info is, but this is the first time anyone from there sounded definitive about it.

Only one which was from a guy who had all sorts of other alleged-abuse-type issues issues mixed in. If it is going to be a prolonged period of inactivity, I would get a Dura XT fliphone for $12 on Ebay if nothing else and swap that on later when it gets here so you can have some use.

Try running it through the Ting checker.
https://ting.com/go/devices
That might clean up its status (how is does so is complicated, but it can).

Then does the Ting checker say it can be activated on cdma or only on gsm?

Then try again on Sprint.

Check that the phone number is not on a Sprint mvno.

Also, if the phone was ever used on a Sprint mvno, you will have to get the ownership flag flipped to SPCS. Search here or on Reddit for LiterallyUnlimited who can do that. Sprint can do it too but may hesitate due to history of phone.

Just switched from MintSim over the phone (had Sprint sims in hand as well as mintsim account number and pin).
Here is some speed comparison (note the upload speed, will try to retest at night):
Zip is 33767

MintSim: 102 Down 34 UP
Sprint: ~70 Down ~2 Up

I guess its possible, but the website still says it ends on 1/31/2019....
so maybe the cut-off for new activations for the plan was extended, but the end date stays the same?

Nah, that's normal. They never update the web site until the first of the month. They want to have people who have not yet called and are not yet underway under deadline pressure. They will update the web site date out further on Feb.1, but not before. "The one year free" is already in the ads and is a better slogan than "11 months free".

I was told the opposite, that it had run for 4 months and it wasn't going to get extended any longer. Maybe it was just my salesperson saying that so I wouldn't wait to activate and would do it with her.

I just started my free plan with sprint and everything is going well on 3 of my lines, but there are problems with the other two. The more serious problem is that I had purchased a sim card at the local sprint store to use with a moto g4 play that I purchased for my daughter. I sent both the card and the phone to my daughter (she's away at college), but when I went to transfer her line over with Sprint, they said the sim card doesn't work with that phone! She's not going to have a chance to get a new sim card until this Thursday (the first). So what are my odds they'll still honor the promotion? I'm already approved for 5 lines and they said it would still be honored if I transferred the line then... Second problem is that her service (with Cricket) runs out Wednesday and I don't want to lose her number or have her without service for a whole month so I think I'm stuck paying for another month's service with Cricket.

Third problem is that Sprint couldn't transfer my other daughter's phone number from Cricket -- they said the line was showing up as already disconnected. I chatted with Cricket, however, and it's still good. Cricket even volunteered that no attempt had been made to port that number. All my lines that I moved over were on the same Cricket account, so I know I used the correct account number and pin. Any ideas what I should try?

What exact sim cards part numbers are they? Post them and we will tell you whether they are the correct ones for the respective phone models. (Or you can look at https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card yourself).

If the port requests are still outstanding, you can call the porting dept at Sprint directly at 866-437-1818 prferably during the day and work on the problem lines. They will work on them while you are on the line and call Cricket if you ask them to.

The date issue will not be a problerm in my opinion in any case.
