We just had a weird experience. I successfully activated a Nexus 5 at the end of January and my wife wanted to put another one on, using her SSN so she could use it until next April. The second phone's imei would not work and the Sprint folks said they could do nothing for us (just like the first one, failed the online checker). The imei passes ting and swappa checkers just fine. The first phone activated and works fine. Any ideas?

Sprint won't whitelist it for use unless you know an unscrupulous employee to add it.
Only the XT1766(sprint) or XT1768(unlocked/unbranded) are supported. The verizon pre-paid is model XT1767. It has been discussed in the moto e4 walmart thread.
You can always enter the imei into the sprint imei checker to confirm.

If she has a nexus 5 and it was on a sprint mvno previously it will need PLBL flag changed to SPCS. Search for LiterallyUnlimited to get fixed.

If it has ever been on a Sprint mvno you will have to have to get LiterallyUnlimited on Reddit to flip the ownership flag from PLBL to SPCS. Search on posts by LiterallyUnlimited in this thread for details.

Cool, the free Sprint plan allows international roaming? What are the details?

How do I deactivate a SIM? I assumed that when I ported the number out, the SIM would have been deactivated automatically.

Thanks for all your help.
Re InternationalRoaming,
Quote :
Are international services included?
Yes, our 1 Year Free Unlimited plan includes Sprint Global Roaming, which includes data up to 2G speeds and text messaging in any of our 165+ Global Roaming countries at no charge, plus calling for just $0.20 a minute.
It does not include calling from the U.S. to international locations, but you can easily add international calling to your plan.
Porting out the number will release the phone and sim, but there can be a delay in the release.

I recently bought Moto X4 from Amazon (Unlocked) and I am trying to activate it through sprint. When I check device eligibility it says not eligible. Moto X4 is one of eligible devices per sprint.com.

Any tips ?

Check on ting.com/byod and see if it says good on CDMA and GSM or just GSM.
If it says just GSM, I would call the vendor and tell them it will not activate on either Sprint postpaid or on a Sprint mvno and ask what to do..

You could work on certain things but I would ask them first. They probably know what the problem is.

Another Amazon Moto purchaser had a similar problem, but for others the phones have activated fine. There may be sku mixups or some such.

I got it used on ebay, so no idea about where it has been. Seems kind of unlikely that that sort of phone would have ever been on any Sprint before. It is a D820 so it has the cdma radio. If that is the only possibility I will give LiterallyUnlimited a holler.

I would check it on https://ting.com/byod first.
If that says it is good for CDMA and GSM, then the above is the problem for sure.

If Ting says GSM only, then we have another problem which will be that it failed to get added to the Sprint database, which can be remedied a different way.

FYI sprint does offer unlimited INTL plan for $5. Once you re signed up and create mysprint login, go under services. This is the same area to add WiFi calling

That will not happen for this phone. GSM is always the easy one.

Oh I see.
In that case it is fine if you are planning to activate on Sprint or its mvno's.
Many (not all) Sprint branded phones will show that way and that is normal.
