Yes I do, but only at the slow 2G speed. When overseas, I want to have the freedom to pop in whatever sim I get locally. It's annoying, to say the least, to not be able to do that on a phone that I pay full price on...
I agree completely.
By the way you can get 4G for a very low cost: $25 a week in any given country.

If customers need high-speed data while traveling abroad, they can select $5/day or $25/week passes on-the-fly directly from their smartphone with just a few simple clicks. No advanced planning is required and no account log-in is necessary. And Sprint high-speed data includes 4G/LTE where more than 95 percent of customers use data.

Has anyone had an issue with Google voice not being eligible for porting into Sprint? If so, how was issue fixed?

When I gave the Sprint representative my Google Voice number she stated there was an issue with that number (showed and "X" on Sprint side) and it could not be ported. I unlocked the number last night.

I chatted with Google Voice and they said it looked fine on their side, but that sometimes some numbers are just not compatible with certain phone companies.

Now, i am wondering if I should set up another Google Voice number. Sprint will call me back tonight.

I have seen numbers rejected if the area code and prefix are in an area without native Sprint coverage.

Thanks I set up another Google Voice Number and checked it at the link posted above.

Looks like it should work, crossing my fingers. Now to pray the Sprint rep actually calls me back.

Usually when they say that in TeleSales, the rep. is just looking to pick up the commission personally by calling you back.

If they do not call promptly by the time you prefer, you can just call again...

I went through the process and got up to the order confirmation page and am now waiting for my SIMs to get delivered. I got that thing where it says my PIN is displayed on this page but there wasn't any pin there. I searched through this thread and apparently that's been happening for a lot of people but it's not a big deal, you just get your pin afterward.

BUT I chatted with the Sprint guy and he says I need to go through entering my IMEIs again once I get the SIMs. But wouldn't that just result in me having to order another batch of SIM cards? When I get the SIMs, can I go straight into the "activatenow" link? Or do I really have to re-enter my IMEIs and order another batch of SIMs and hope my pin shows up this time?

Had a couple of freedompop global sim accounts. They became inactive and I clicked on activation link on the account. I had to chose a new number and gave it to the CS rep on phone to add a new line. She said that she can not verify it as it failed some validation. People who are able to port in FP global sim did it with active accounts? Is there something that I can do to make this work? TIA.

FP numbers are VOIP numbers so they may just take longer to show up after bring newly created. That would be my guess.

I just had a successful port to a LG V20 from Google Voice that I did completely over the internet. I used the activatenow link right away, but it took 3 full business days after I got the SIM before I got service. I see others called in and got the port to go quicker with manual approval. I wasn't in a hurry.

On your question, I went straight to the activatenow link. I finished that and then got an email with a NEW order number, not the same as the order number for the SIM card. In that email it says :

Final steps & additional info

If you haven't activated your SIM card yet…

Once you get your SIM card, activate it here. You must activate it within 10 days to start your Sprint service.

IMPORTANT: Your transfer will not take place unless you activate the SIM card.
As far as I can tell this is b.s. The "here" link never worked, it could not find my order, couldn't find my phone #, nothing.

ALL I did was wait 3 days (because this was a port was from Google Voice) and the phone started working. It said something about a reboot I think, then branded itself as a Sprint phone and activated.

So from what I can gather, once you go through the activatenow link and complete the steps to the end, you are done. You just have to wait or if impatient, call them to force the port early.

All of the info that Sprint gives you is worthless until the port goes through because nothing will work online. You can't check port status, get a My Sprint account, nothing on the Sprint website will work for you. This was a terrible customer experience, but now that I have service I'm happy.

Finally, you can tell when your port is completed because you will get an email from Sprint at the time it finishes. The subject is "Manage your account at sprint.com".

Thank you! That's immensely helpful. I'll do that then I think. Your experience with that dead link is interesting because i just got a confirmation email from sprint with a different order number that when I entered on the Sprint order tracker, it also didn't work for tracking the SIMs. But the older order number did so it's not a big deal. Did you have any down period where your phone didn't work? Like some limbo period between the number porting to Sprint and transferring away from your previous carrier?

My experience with the Sprint chat CR was actually alright. He was mostly helpful and pretty patient with all my questions. I think chat is just naturally limited.

I ported from a Google Voice (VOIP) number that I had just got a few days prior. I got the Sprint SIM on Thursday and the GV number finally ported to Sprint 2 AM Central time Monday morning. Every day I tried calling the GV number and each time it still rang via Google. I could check Google Voice's port check though and it said the port was approved and was just waiting on my new carrier.

Outgoing phone calls worked on my new line first, texts and incoming calls didn't work for about another hour after that.

BTW, I also got another Sprint email shortly after using the activatenow link.

running a Nexus 5x on MintSim, and page says phone doesn't qualify. It should based on listed phones.

Any thoughts?

Before Mint Sim, was it ever on a Sprint MVNO? If so, then you need to have the flag switched which you could ask Sprint to do but probably easier to message a user named LiterallyUnlimited on Reddit to do who is very helpful.
