Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Hi. I have an old iPhone 6 Plus with no service that I want to activate for my daughter. How do I get around it without a phone number?

What's the cheapest and quickest way to get a Sprint SIM ? Is it pickiping up at Best Buy ? Or can I pick up one at the Apple store ?

Yes if it is for an iPhone you can bring it to an Apple store in person and they will give you the correct Sprint sim for that iPhone model free.

The number being ported in can come from anywhere (except Sprint or its MVNO's). For example, TMobilePrepaid, H2O (requires delay for port out) , AT&TPrepaid, Google Voice ($3, can be slow), FreedomPop (can be slow) , or search Ebay "number for porting" (some do not recommend this last way). It does not need to have been associated with the phone you activate.

I was able to add a new line yesterday making it 2 lines on my account.

As someone was saying the CS rep didn't allow me to remove the device protection insurance while adding the line. During the first time around I didn't even realized that they were adding it and I had to chat with a CS rep to remove it.

I chatted with a rep this morning again and requested for the device protection service to be removed on the second line. While talking I noticed that my account/services page still shows that my first device still has this device protection plan and the rep also told me that the first device still has the service. I asked him to remove from both the lines. However, I still see that both devices has this service on my account.

Sounds weird, but is this expected? Can someone who has been on this plan for sometime verify from their services if this is enabled but don't get actually billed for this? TIA.

comintel, has given u lots of options below, and they are all very good indeed.

i would suggest GV for $3.
it is pretty easy and the port can be pushed through (in 10 minutes or so) with a quick call.

i know, i have done it.

step 1:

Google Voice Instructions

I believe others are having luck by following these instructions:
Go to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock and unlock your Google Voice number, which will cost $3 and is payable online by card
Set a voicemail pin here https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#...ilsettings - you will need this pin in order to finish the porting
Good luck, I haven't personally verified this but others in the thread seem to be having luck

If you've never set your pin or if you want to try to change it, this worked for me.
Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

PORT STATUS AND COMPLETION INFO:

I am sure we will be able to get yours on if you want to work on it here. The most likely problem is not related to its being a Sprint model and would also have occured with a non-Sprint phone that had been on an Sprint MVNO earlier and left flagged as in MVNO status.

Was your phone on a Sprint MVNO at any time? If so, you will have to get it pushed back to Sprint postpaid (search on LiterallyUnlimited in this thread) and then it will go on fine.

In any case, does Ting say it is eligible and mention CDMA if you check the IMEI at https://ting.com/byod

Also, what does https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...print.html say if you enter the IMEI?

The amswers to these will give us important clues as to what went wrong and we can suggest what to do.

Ting : your phone is compatible..., it will support on our CDMA network.
Sprint: Good new, your phone is compatible with our network.

But when check eligible on BYOD: ineligible, this phone does not qualify for this offer.
Note: the phone number I want to port is active postpaid T mobile.

you said it's been off Sprint for more than a year, so has it been used anywhere else during that time ?

and what is the Sprint webpage that said "good new, your phone is compatible" ?

I ordered Sprint sim a month back and since my device is locked, I was not able to use the plan. Surprisingly when I got a new device today(pixel) the previous sim card didn't work. So I had to get a new sim. The store wants to charge me $35, but finally, I fought with customer support and got a new sim ordered for free. But to my surprise, I saw that the charger $10 for shipping. I asked him to refund, he credited back to my sprint account.
Since my account was not active, I didn't have a spring account(or didn't know I had one) So the representative helped me register the account. Once logging in, I see there is a balance of $45 in my account. Checking the details, my account got active when I ordered the sim, and I was been charged insurance($18) on my device, which I have NOT purchased from sprint.
I have also not reeived any billing emails from sprint. Only when I logged into my account i
Did anyone have such experience? How did you get this resolved? Others beware of this charges. If you have started your interaction with sprint, then make sure you are not being charged.

my year runs out end of May, anyone have any luck re-upping on this deal, or will i have to port back to ATT and then back into sprint after ___ months with ATT?

thanks

Before doing anything else, have you tried calling 866-782-8777 and ask them to try it and see if it qualifies? Sometimes that is necessary. I would just give them the IMEI and phone number and ask them to type them in to see if it qualifies and do not ask any questions first such as can I activate such and such type of phone or give any explanations of the situation unless they ask. If they do ask, just give yes and no type answers, not background (which confuses them). They do not have any basis to answer such questions and you just want them to type in the IMEI and phone number into their system (which sometimes accepts devices that the web site does not).

If they say YES, just sign up then and there (or add line if you have a plan already). You do not need a new sim - give them the old ICCID if you get to that stage.

If they say NO, ask them what reason the computer gives - try to get exact words.
