Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So, I am a VZ customer taking my phone to Sprint. I started the process online and for some reason I was prompted to call them. And the nightmare began....

Was on hold for several periods, talking to someone offshore I could not understand. They had issues running my credit and was transferred more than once.

Finally, I am sent an e-agreement to sign and in there it shows I am being sent a LG Dynasty and being charged 7 bux a month for it. I am terribly annoyed at this point and the guy says don't worry, we will be crediting you for this and I wouldn't be paying anything for my phone. Says I will take the SIM card out of the LG and put it in my iPhone.

Right now I am waiting on this phone and SIM to show..

Also, said I need to go back to the local Sprint store and port-in and get on the plan. The local store here in town is terrible. I left Sprint for a reason years ago...I am hoping that this work is worth the $1000 I will save over the next year.
If you get a phone from Sprint, you will not be eligible for this promotion. Please contact Sprint ASAP to fix it.

"Clean Sprint ESN" needs to be qualified by whose test you are quoting. Swappa uses that teminology and is notoriously inaccurate. Sprint does not use the term ESN.

But test it at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...print.html

If it says "money may be owed to Sprint" then do not take that literally. It is actually very positive if you get that because it means you just need to get LiterallyUnlimited to push the MEID back to postpaid if it has ever been on an mvno.

Also test on the Ting checker https://ting.com/byod .
Both checkers are showing compatible and ready to activate

Call customer service (not the 866-782-8777 sales number for this) and cancel the LG under the 14 day money back guarantee as it is within 14 days. They will send you a return kit. Do not sign the agreement they sent. I would not break the seal on the phone box.

Stores cannot handle this plan - you do not need them. Why waste your time and risk their putting you on a paid plan?

You just need the right sim card for the iPhone - you can get one free in person at an Apple Store. Different devices require different sim cards in general. Swapping sims is unncessary and might not work and would cause delay. Just get the right one from the Apple store and activate the phone on the free plan over the phone to Telesales at 866-782-8777 only (not customer service in this case).

If you do those things does that take care of everything?. Make sure that you on the free plan. Do not agree to anything on a paid plan. Ask them to repeat that it is on the free plan. If you cannot understand them then ask to speak to another rep. Never agree to anything you do not fully understand every word of.

Try calling in then and it should go through.

Sometimes calling in is needed with certain phones.

If they get an error about money owing then see my prior post.

OK this is a long thread.

Say I have an Iphone being paid off at Verizon and I have an unlimited data plan through Verizon. I can pay off my phone with Verizon, and use this promotion to achieve a free year of Spring unlimited data, and sever my tied with Verizon?

Anyone eligible to upgrade phones on this free plan done so yet? It shows both my kids' phones as being eligible now but when I try to click on them to look at the choices I get stuck in a loop from hell in multiple browsers. Doubt I'd pull the trigger but thought I'd at least take a look but it won't even let me browse devices.

check the free byod checker to make sure your Iphone qualifies. (it should). make sure your phone is unlocked. Then proceed to an Apple store to get a complimentary Sprint sim for your specific phone or to Best Buy and acquire the same type sim precisely for your device. make sure you have your account number and pin number from verizon, then call the 866 728 8777 number and express to them you want to partake of the 1 year free byod plan. state that you already have an eligible phone and sprint sim. they will undertake the whole proceeding and if everything is right, the process will be concluded in around 20 or so minutes. no need to sever ties with verizon as successfully porting your number to sprint will do just that, thereupon verizon will issue you your final bill. fancy the free 1 year service.

You're eligible for upgrade after 120 days -- website will update again once you're eligible (until then it'll show 2 years out)

Yes many are. Consensus is that you must Port out for 45 days to erase your account and re-start.
Promotion will most likely be gone by that time. So, Port out numbers to any GSM network. Have a relative open a BYOD account under a different SS#.
Port back in your lines under that new account.
Times -a- wasting. Get crackin'

I signed up last July and during the past eight months we've seen Sprint say the program was ending soon, only to see it extended again and again. Why is it different this time? Why does everyone think it is really going to end this month? Their track record indicates otherwise.
