Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Does anyone know how long you have to port in lines after opening your new Sprint BYOD 1-Year Free Unlimited plan?

I have one last line that I need to port out from Sprint (on a different account and SSN) over to T-Mobile, then port it back to this BYOD plan.
I opened this new Sprint account (under a different SSN) a couple of weeks ago, so I need to know if there's a time limit on porting in phone numbers to this new BYOD plan from the account opening date.
Thanks!
Quote from freddiez :
You're asking if there is a minimum time that your number must be ported out from Sprint correct?
You can put it back immediately under the new SSN.
There may be a delay from the company from which you are porting back into Sprint. I believe that's the only limitation. They vary
Freddiez covered whether there is a minimum time. As to whether there is a maximum time within which you must complete adding lines on a new account, no, you can add a line "at any time" according to the Sprint web page. Some think that might be cut off, finally, when the offer closes to new subcriptions (which could be for example next month). Others including me think it will more likely continue open for adding lines until the end of savings date for your particular account (12-14 months after you open it). Reps say they do not know.

Right, that is what I am asking.
Can I still add a line to the 1-Year Unlimited Free Year plan sometime later.. say 4 weeks, 6 weeks, etc. down the line?

I was kinda worried that the port-in might get cut off when the promotion ends, maybe around the end of May....
But I do see the small print "Add a Line: Add a line at any time with port-in from postpaid carrier " so maybe not.
I was just wondering, of those that have had this plan for several months, if they have had any issue adding a line to the plan, several weeks/months later?

Yes I've done that. Numerous people have.

Nobody has ever reported a problem adding lines at any time.

but of course, this promotion has never really "expired"

the more interesting question is when/(if) this promotion eventually expires...will someone that already has 1 line, be able to add another line..

say...today i am a BRAND new customer.
joined 4/20/18

and if (big if), the promotion expires on 6/1/18

will i be able to add another line on 7/1

no clear answer for that

Agreed. Athough I personally favor a literal interpretation of "at any time," that may be a slim reed to lean on, as they say. It could easily go the other way.

If, say, late in May (or earlier) it looks as if the offer is near an end, I may add one or two extra lines temporarily to bridge over until this issue becomes clear after the offer does close to new subscribers.

Sprint subsidiary Boost is cutting back on some offers if that offers a clue as to when Sprint may end this one: https://www.prepaidphonenews.com/...zed-4.html

I swapped phones on one of my lines. How can reuse the phone I took off to port in another line from TMobile? Will the phone I just took off still be tied to Sprint?

As long the phone is not active on Sprint. You can reuse it.

I hope it means the opposite and Sprint wants to add those Boost customers thru a better deal at Sprint. Free service for everyone, Karl's vision. Lol.

So I just signed up and used my home phone number and it went through.
My plan is to get rid of the landline and port it to google voice.
Hopefully my home phone number will work when I activate the sim card and port my number.

If you are sure you want to use Google Voice, it may be safest to go right to the end configuration you want:
(1) Port your home phone number to Google Voice.
(2) To open the Sprint account, port in a TMobile prepaid phone number and activate your phone with it.

If you move your home phone number first to Sprint, you would have to port it out again to Google Voice which it seems to me would kill your free Sprint plan and you would have to start over? Actually you could work around that using an additional phone.

I may be missing what you have in mind. Or maybe you do not mind changing your number.

Incidentally, Google Voice does not support many Sprint features such as HD calls, wifi calling, VoLTE (coming) etc. so I would not use it if it were me. So if you want to try out Sprint as is, without GV, to begin with, then it may be a good idea to start simply and go ahead and just port in your home phone number to Sprint for now, despite all of the above.

For someone on Project FI, wanting in on Sprint1yearfree, I read about porting to google voice but apart from that what are cheap options to port out elsewhere temporarily from FI and then from there to sprint 1yearfree ? I checked cricket that wants 10 bucks for a SIM, and unsure if any limite on how soon it can be ported out to sprint.

I already got 1 line on sprint1yearfree that was earlier on mintsim, and have 2 more lines on FI, so looking for an intermediary place to port to cheaply before jumpoing to sprint 1 yr

Suggestions? TIA

Hi all,

I'd like to ask experience of others who did port out existing numbers to t-mobile prepaid and port back in Sprint for another 12 months.
I got two t-mbobile SIM cards from Apple store already so I just need to port out to T-mobile pay as you go plan. And the question is what was your experience with t-mobile rep? I don't want to put in $10 per line for just a day, so how did you dodge the bullet for put the money in? I guess the minimum is $3 credit required for the pay as you go plan which is reasonable to me. I just want to avoid put in $10 for each line.

what was your experience? Any suggestions and guidance will be greatly appreciated

I just did this yesterday. I told the rep I would go to tmoblie and buy refill cards. No money was needed and the port was done in 5 minutes. Had no issues with tmoblie releasing my number back to Sprint with zero money on account.
