Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Here's an inexpensive 6p deal. Should be compatible fellow BYODer's.
Not 100 % sure it's unlocked but I believe it is.

Total Wireless part of TracFone Carlos Slime. Pretty sure locked down like Fort Knox for 12 months. Don''t know price of 3rd party unlocks.
Edit maybe unlocked but unconfirmed, that thread only has about 5 comments thinking unlocked. The rest 245 speak mostly about problems with phone.

You can swap to iPhone 6 but you will need a sprint sim card for it. You can try my sprint online(usually get error),chat, or call. Also I would recommend not mentioning reason for swap.
The Verizon iPhone 6 lacks LTE band 41 but has band 25,26 so data probably will not be as good as s8+. Sprint data is pretty variable on any phone though.

If your Verizon iPhone is unlocked (which it should be) and if you have a SIM card that fits it and is activated you should be able to pop the sim in and use it right away but you may need to call CS or get a new sim.

I think only if you either:
(1) Apply the workarounds at
http://s4gru.com/forums/topic/780...ent=526415
or
(2) flash it to the branded rom

Just to clarify explicitly:
(1)Sim cards are for specific models only. See http://s4gru.com/forums/topic/783...ity-chart/ or Ting for a list of what sim card is needed for what phone models.
(2) So get the correct sim card for your new model from Twigby ($2.99) or wherever.
(2) You cannot move service to a different phone just by moving an active sim card to a different phone alone even if it would support both phone models. This will never work on Sprint. You need to do a MEID / IMEI swap on the Dashboard (which will invoke the help of tech, support chat to complete).

I think the original poster may be past this point but I just wanted to clarify for others.

I have 2 Moto G4 Plus phone with the Sprint unlimited deal, set to expire in June. I have read through the thread and just want to confirm my steps:

1. Buy this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LPPH..._lig_dp_it and sign up for the $3 permonth $10 minimum plan (if theres a cheaper way to go, please let me know).

2. Port numbers over from Sprint.

3. Have wife (with her SSN) sign up at Sprint and port numbers back over for the unlimited deal.

4. Cancel old Sprint account.

All good? I plan to do it this weekend.

EDIT: I think I still have my old prepaid T-mobile sims. Can these be used again?

If you try to port numbers from T-Mobile prepaid they might give you some minor grief when you say your account number is 1+(phonenumber) because post-paid T-Mobile accounts are only 9 digits. Their system should still take it but they might ask "is this post -paid or prepaid?" And could technically reject your sign-up if not post-paid, if they wanted to.

If you activate/port over to T-Mobile and don't top up (making no payments at all), then you'll likely have no useful service in the meantime (some people are OK with that, but some want their phone numbers to work at all times, and haven't yet discovered Google Voice). Be sure to make note of the PIN you set for each line when activating as it's needed for the port to Sprint

If you have SIMs you already ported the numbers out of, they are probably "permanently" deactivated, but if you want to be double sure you could try putting in the SIM and see if you can even call 611.

Also, when signing up for the Sprint offer online, make sure she uses her exact address that would be on file with the credit bureau, and if possible a long-time home phone number, or a number that has been used frequently on bank/credit stuff. If anything is even slightly off (or, it seems, if they just happen to feel like it) you end up having to do the credit check over the phone, which is a pain and extra time consuming.

(Edited to fix number of digits in account and add credit check warning).

The overall plan is fine.

The info is probably true on the TMobile side re sim reuse not being allowed for a new account.

On the Sprint side, Sprint sims never expire and can always be reused. They are never deactivated. The poster should use the original Sprint sims. Sprint is not like other carriers that require new sims for a new account. Some Sprint phones even have non-removable sims which would be incompatible with any such requirement.

By the way Sprint does not care re postpaid versus prepaid versus landline versus VOIP numbers are all fine.. Most of us use prepaid TMobile numbers routinely in fact.for interim ports out and in. Even FP anf GV numbers are being ported in. Nobody has had problem with prepaid numbers.

I've heard of especially "helpful" agents refusing to accept the 11-digit T-Mobile account number and requiring the customer to conference call T-Mobile and ask them to verify the account number and PIN over the phone because they are "worried you might not get the promo if the number is wrong." That's because they have a list of carriers and port requirements and if the PIN and account number you give does not match what they think is required in length etc. they will not accept it to try to cut down on failed ports.

I saw this myself. I was porting in from a TMobile prepaid account and the EBay vendor of the "number for porting" had given me a 6 digit pin.

But Sprint asked me "is this the normal pin you use to access your TMobile Prepaid account when you call in?" I had no idea but said yes. It seemed logical to me but was inconsistent because the normal pin to access a TMobile account is 4 digits. So they knew I was confused and insisted I check with TMobile.

It turns out that what they said is correct, but I had been give a "port pin" which is 6 digits. Once I knew to say so, it went right through.

So they are indeed just trying to be helpful and avoid failed ports (of which there is a very high number due to user error). If it looks like the information you are giving them is wrong or inconsistent, they will ask you to check with your carrier.

In the case you mention, probably the caller said it was a TMobile postpaid number when it obviously was not. Tell them the full real carrier when you call. Say TMobile Prepaid if it is TMobile Prepaid. It is fine with them. Tell them it is Mint if it is Mint - do not say TMobile in that case. You can say Mint TMobile MVNO if you want.

Anything that is likely to work is fine with them - they want the commission. They're not even hesitating over GoogleVoice and Freedom Pop which are not even cellular numbers.

I understand.. so I bought the Sim Kit from Boost Mobile at Best Buy that comes with 3 types of cards..when i went to switch to my iphone , i had to use one of the other sims in the pack in order to transfer.. im guessing when I get my galaxy back from repair i need to swap it back.. the sim system for them is archaic,, just like metro
