Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I successfully ported my home phone number! Took couple of days but finally went through.
Now, I have to find a way to port the same number to google voice but also keep the service.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can do that?
You ported your home number to Sprint, to this BYOD plan? Then you can't port it to Google Voice now - that will cancel your Sprint service. You should have ported your home number to some other carrier, a cheap prepaid service, and ported from there to Google Voice. I've used AT&T prepaid the last few times for that. Once you are on Google Voice, your actual mobile number becomes largely irrelevant. I've never given my Sprint number to anyone - I'm not even sure what it is; I'd have to look it up.

Yeah, I guess I'll just wait until my yr is up then port it then. I just wanted to get rid of my landline bill asap since I don't even use it.

You could always add a second free line and then port out the first line to Google voice.
You would need to get another number to port in and another phone(or dummy imei)

Well, about 50% of the recent posts on this thread are on this subject and lots of us have done it and reported on it in detail.

Port out to TMobile Prepaid (or to another non-Sprint account you may already have), open a new free Sprint account under a spouse or family member SSN, and port back in to the new account. You do not need new Sprint sims,

One day, this offer will suddenly be over without necessarily any advance warning and then it will be too late. One possible date for that is June 1, a popular guess, but it could be earlier or later.

Do you know if you have to wait a certain amount of time after you port out of Sprint before porting back in or can you do it immediately? Thanks.

Well, I guess I need to buy a qualifying phone. I thought that I could use my old Sprint Galaxy S5 or LG G3 on this, but they both come up as "
Ineligible, this phone does not qualify for this offer" online, and calling the phone number they say the same thing. I know they are oldies, but they are still goodies, as far as I'm concerned. Still better than the cheapo I'm using on T-Mo right now.

You can do it immediately provided it is to a new account under a different SSN (relative, spouse).

To use your own SSN again, you would have to be away from Sprint for 45 days which is no longer feasible against a poossible plan end date of the end of May.

Sprint Galazy S5 should work but if it was on an MVNO you will have to get it pushed back to Postpaid. Try it on the Tello checker. If it works there that supports this theory. Search on LiterallyUnlimited in this thread for more info.

Also try it at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...print.html and see what exact error it gives.

The activation fee is waived but you cannot get the offer without giving your SSN and a hard credit report pull.

Thank you. How long does it take to get the Sprint sim card when ordered? My current at&t service ends on the 30th.

Also when my free year is up, how do I cancel my Sprint account. Do I simply port the number out or do I call them telling them to end my service at the end of the billing cycle?

Gotcha. Also, I can use the same phone and SIM card correct? What about the SPCS flag thing? Do I have to unflag my current phone so I can reuse it again on a new account with a different SSN? Currently using an unlocked SSG S9 +. Thanks.

Yes and yes. No bit flipping should be necessary unless you use the phone on an MVNO for a while.

---

Got charged $13 for TEP despite specifically asking them not to add it, and then going into my account services page and manually removing it after seeing that they added it despite my wishes. Fired up chat and asked them to remove the charge. At first, they were going to issue it as a credit on the 2nd bill, but I was insistent and got it taken off the front. Keep a hawk eye on on your bills. Sprint is very serious about selling TEP. It's probably the only way they can make money off of these "free" lines.

No data or 3G only(CDMA). Iphone SE(A1662) except the sprint version(A1723) is missing band 41 but should have band 25,26 for LTE.
If no data then it is sprint backend(data provision) issue. If 3G only you can try following.

1-Reset Subscriber Settings (Carrier Reset)
Go to dial pad as though you're about to dial a phone number
Enter # # 25327 #
Tap Call
A "Reset Subscriber Settings" message will appear - tap OK
Wait 5-10 seconds; the signal notification will display "Searching" on the top left of the screen
When the phone shows a signal again, the phone is ready to use

2-Service Update (Profile & PRL Update)
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Tap the phone app
Dial # # 873283 #
Tap Call
"Starting Service Update" message will appear - tap OK
If update is successful "Service Update Complete" message will appear after about a minute - tap OK

3-Check for an old LTE APN profile and delete it.
The problem was due to a Profile named "LTE APN". (Settings>General>Profiles - Right below "VPN". There may not be "Profile" on the Menu, depending on the carrier used before.). Deleted this Profile, then LTE Data signal showed up! This Profile was probably from the previous carrier.

Thanks my friend.. this helped me a lot !!
