Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

See this is the type of thing I don't want to put up with and worries me. I might just go back to MetroPCS and save a hard credit pull.

It;s just at the time of Sale and easy to correct. They are not alone either. I think other cellular sales people do it commonly too. It is a disgraceful industry Sales practice,

At least here we know exactly what to check for and how to fix it painlessly.

Already did it. This is the 3rd time I signed up, so I know this is what they are doing. The thing is that I told the sales guy that I would sign up an account and check once I activate the phone and would remove it if you add it by "accident."

My friend got tricked and paid $50 extra for the first month.

This smells like Wells Fargo scandal and I am reporting to FTC for this kind of BS.

Just like Wells Fargo, yes. Thanks for reporting to FTC.

Your friend should ask for offsetting credit, if not yet done.

Does anyone know if the Amazon version of the Moto phones would work with this promotion?.
I'll add a word of caution about buying from Amazon. Their FBA Program (fulfillment by Amazon) means that product from different vendors sometimes (often?) gets chucked into the same bin. The stock contamination means you have no way of knowing whether you'll get a legit item or some international version that managed to pass some Amazon warehouse dude's cursory inspection. It's my biggest peeve about buying stuff from Amazon. Usually, though, the manufacturer or seller will honor any warranty claims.

Why are they adding insurance on byod?
insurance on phone is a big money maker for them.
not only do u pay the monthly for insurance (~10-15), but typically there a deductible as well in the amount of ~100-200 if u have to avail of the insurance
big scam

1 year old or more phone = forget about it

So, I originally got this back in August for 5 lines. If I port #s to Tmobile do I need new Sprint sim cards to port back and get this deal again (using a new SS# of course)? Or can I just use the old ones? I've seen others mention the porting out & back in and they make it seem like it only takes a few minutes using tmobile but I don't see how that's possible if I have to order new sim cards.

Couple of follow-up questions:
So do I call Sprint with the new sims inserted or with the tmobile sims, or should I be using a different phone?
How do I get all 5 phones switched? I share the plan with family members and we're spread over 3 cities that are a few hours apart so we need to be able to do this remotely.
Sorry for the noob questions, but I've changed carriers like 2x in my life so not used to this.

With the original Sprint sims inserted back in at that point.

Timing does not matter. You can do them one at a time if you want (5 separate calls to Sprint).

Call 866-782-8777 only, not any other Sprint number.

Thanks dude, you've been very helpful to me and I thank you for all your knowledge. Do you know how long the port would take going from AT&T prepaid to Sprint?

Should be instant while holding on the phone between major carriers.

I have a Nexus 6, T-Mobile number to transfer and the proper Sprint SIM. How long does the phone call with the CSR to get everything set up usually take?

My guess: 15 minutes to 60 minutes depending entirely on whether any tricky credit or identity issues arise. Average could be maybe 25 minutes. Best do it when you have some spare time watching tv etc.

If you fail an identity quiz (given to only some people where they think you might or might not be you) they can turn you down or tell you to go to a store with ID. But that only happens to a few people, most of whom probably have complicated lives.
