Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Those already signed up will be absolutely fine.
Sprint made the written promise of one year free.
But for anyone not yet signed up I would do it NOW.

I would not be at all surprised to see the offer close to new customers shortly after the merger is announced, which could be in the next couple of days.

Sprint's owner will be the majority shareholder but TMobile will have 69% voting control and consolidation on its books.

Of course it will take up to a year waiting for regulatory approval. Hopefully they will do roaming on each other while waiting out the year but that is just a thought.

On a side note I am liking this Nexus 6p. Came NIB unlocked. Updated to 8.1
Nice Amoled display. I prefer the 16*9 display. Awaiting Sprint sim. No heat issues yet. I don't game though. Did anyone else partake?

Do most people agree that this offer will still continue until at least May 31, 2018, or will the Sprint/T-Mobile merger cause it to end sooner? I'm on Verizon prepaid until mid May and I'd prefer not to lose what I've paid for the month if possible.

The merger is likely to be announced Sunday night according to reports.

Apparently their earnings announcement is next week and they went to get it done before the earnings announcement. Maybe they want to get some other things done by then too.

I do not think you can count on the offer remaining open unless the sales staff have already been told that it will and even then it is not 100%. You can call and ask them I guess for what it is worth.

I am not saying that it will definitely close though, just that it is not certain either way.

You do not really lose anything by doing it now because they are already giving out a May 31 2019 end-of-savings date so your total costs will probably be about the same whether you do it now or in mid-May.

For 4 extra months I guess in that case.

In view of the costs that ports incur, a middle ground might be to track it by the day and consider doing one line for a start by Sunday or Monday night as a low-cost foothold in the May expiration, depending on what the call center people are saying on the weekend or, only very slighty riskier, on Monday. Personally I think one line may be enough because you should still be able to move over the other lines later if "at any time" means what I think. But there are enough uncertainties here that your or anyone's evaluation may easily go different ways.

Do you guys have a hard time getting a Magic Box if you are in an area that supports them? Customer service in Oklahoma keep saying they send one but I never get it or a shipping notification. Also is there a new "rule" where you can't have an Airave 3 and Magic Box on the same account if you have enough lines??? They are making it sound like I have to send the Airave 3 back before they will send a magic box? I have enough open lines for both. Please let me know. Thanks! If there is any trick on getting them to actually send the magic box that would be great as well. Have tried 4 times now each time they said one is coming and its been months/weeks.

I do not think they have ever wanted to send both because either one or the other would normally suffice in most cases. If you have wifi, why would you need a Magic Box as well, might be their question.

Sure. I would. Recoup porting costs in one month. Savings on four lines... $400?
Also it's become fairly painless to get it done. Go for it.
Good luck Desi

This deal has baffled me from its Inception. I mean it's only the best wireless service deal ever to come down the pike.
To me it's shocking every time they extend the offer.
Granted there are some areas in the country where poor Sprint coverage make it unusable at any price. Everyone else though? Why not?
Out of maybe 50 or 60 families I have told, a mere 10 or 12 have actually signed up.
It must be the psychological effect of offering service for free. "Too good to be true" comes to mind.

It will likely end soon if not next month then within the next 3 or so months. That said simple answer to your question sprint service sucks, in majority of the US sprint is WAY behind big red and blue. Many people need good cell coverage for work or family use and in many areas sprint data is terrible if usable at all, sprint still has many areas operating on 3G while the bigger guys have very few areas running 3G. Anybody using a ton of data and wanting decent or good speed, or anybody wanting constant reliable coverage all over will likely avoid sprint even if given for free. Some people also get work discounts for Verizon which makes it even easier to use the better and faster network. On top of all that this deal is not super simple to achieve, it's not complicated but it takes a little brainpower to get (granted not much but still requires some) and that alone will deter many from even attempting to try the deal.

Any chance they did this promo to make their customer base look bigger to negotiate a merger?

That's exactly why they did it and also why it is is jeopardy once the merger is done.

Another way of looking at it is, they did what they had to do to maintain subscriber growth at the cost of short-term profits to maintain long-term viability, but that can only be temporary until a merger or sale of assets or other long-term strategy can be implemented.

Similar experience here. Maybe 1-2 out of 10 I've mentioned this deal to have bothered to switch and those are city folks.
But then again, if you're a hunter and you find yourself out in the country the only useful cell service is Verizon and that's crucial in case things go south, it's a matter of self preservation!

Now, this merger deal will go thru this time with the Trump administration being in charge.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/2...erger.html

But a year from now there wont be as many good cell service deals available, certainly none like this present free deal.

This purpose of this free deal was to build up the Sprint subscriber base to use for leverage in a merger situation. Now that the merger will be tentatively finalized in a couple of days there wont be any more incentive for Sprint to keep this free 1 year deal alive.

So for all you sinners out there.... repent now... the end is near!!!!!

after i place an order i get this message "Your account has been created. Your account PIN is shown on this page. You'll need it any time you contact Sprint about your account, and to create a sign in for sprint.com so you can manage your account online. Write down your PIN or print this page. For your protection, we will not email your PIN to you."

But I do not see my pin number on the order confirmation. Anyone know how to get it?
