I gave up my sero in oct and transferred to my wifes byod.
Decided to open lines in my name again and extend the deal for one more year. When i called yesterday, i found that my old account was still active. They finally closed the account and told me that i will have to goto store to verify my identity to open another account. I did that and when i called again, they said that i am eligible for only one line. I called the creit dept to see if they can approve for another line but they said i have to he customer for 13 months to be eligible for another line.
I have clean credit history.

Has anyone been not approved because of the credit check?

also, if i understand it right the fee breakdown would be this:

$13 + tax (one time for sim)
$3 + tax (every month)

are there any other fees? anything I'm missing?

Finally my warranty replacement essential phone passed eligibility check. I put in my freedompop number and that's accepted. But credit check failed and it asks me to call.
Will the rep shut it down when he sees it's coming from freedompop? The number I am trying to port out is a global sim, which uses tmobile network.

Is there a way to buy a new phone then port in? I'm with an mvno + Google voice. My phone failed the check. I used the mvno # for the check. Thanks.

Thanks that's new. I never got that. I just added two Sprint phones two weeks ago that were not on the list.

That added check may or may not be manual and if so some reps. may skip/ignore it.. It could even be over-zealousness on the part of some reps. I half suspect that. If they can override, commission-greedy reps may do so.

It has always puzzled me because there were always reports of *some* people getting that response but I never did, even when the online system had rejected it..

So I suspect trying again periodically might work. Especially late at night when U.S.-based supervisors may be absent.

Other than that, you may have to try an MEID/IMEI swap then and see if that bypasses that. Those go through tech. support, not sales, and with any luck they will not care (certainly do not mention the issue).

An MEID swap should bypass that check (because I do not think they are ever thorough), but if it depends exactly where they have put in the check that they may have added.
Just did a port in with 2 locked sprint phones a lg g2 and a iPhone 6s Plus and they activated just fine.

Is the $10 T-mobile prepaid SIM the best way to get a number that can be ported? Thanks

Do you give them AT&T as your current carrier, or the MVNO?

Sprint may be close to merging with Tmobile and may pull the plug on new sign ups after deal is signed. If I open a new line with this plan, will I be able to add additional lines later, even after new sign ups will be closed?

I know there is a 45 day waiting period for people re-using their ss# to get a new line, but what about for devices? Can I cancel an existing line, then give the device to someone and they get a new account up and running in a day or two?

I guess I am curious if there is a 'flag' that checks to see if a device was on a free plan

Nobody knows. Consensus of opinion is yes, but it's anybody's guess.

Sure you can but first what exact phone model do you have now?
What mvno are you coming from?
What does it say testing at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...rint.html?
What does the Tello checker say?
Might as well see if the phone you have is still a possibility.
