Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I know there is a 45 day waiting period for people re-using their ss# to get a new line, but what about for devices? Can I cancel an existing line, then give the device to someone and they get a new account up and running in a day or two?

I guess I am curious if there is a 'flag' that checks to see if a device was on a free plan
No such flag. You can reuse it minutes later. Use the same sim. Call in, do not use online web page enrolment.

No limitations on bringing back phones, or phone numbers, or sims that I know of

Just did a port in with 2 locked sprint phones a lg g2 and a iPhone 6s Plus and they activated just fine.
Good to know! I do think LG's and iPhones go thrugh especially easily. They once told me "all it says is LG" for the model so maybe that's part of the reason or maybe the original poster just got a nasty/confused rep.

Finally my warranty replacement essential phone passed eligibility check. I put in my freedompop number and that's accepted. But credit check failed and it asks me to call.
Will the rep shut it down when he sees it's coming from freedompop? The number I am trying to port out is a global sim, which uses tmobile network.
Freedom Pop is fine (even "Sprint side" FP numbers as well as GSM side are never Sprint numbers - they are voip numbers). Can be slow to release for port though.
Did you do something to get your phone accepted?
Did they whitelist it for you?
What changed?

Sorry if it was asked before.

I already have 1 year free account opened in June of 2017. If today and tomorrow are the last 2 days to initiate the new service what will be my best strategy? I need to open 2 new lines. I use GV so dont care about the old phone numbers.

so far I lined out the following plan:

1. Call CS with request to add 2 additional lines (#2 and #3) on the account
2. Use 2 old spare unlocked multi-brand Moto G4s and Sprint sim cards I got from Boost and 2 ATT sims with opened accounts to port in.
3. If everything goes well port out original line (#1) with Iphone 8 to H2O and in a couple of day swap line #2 MotoG4 with Iphone. Swap line #3 Moto G4 with Sprint LG G6.

Sprint may be close to merging with Tmobile and may pull the plug on new sign ups after deal is signed. If I open a new line with this plan, will I be able to add additional lines later, even after new sign ups will be closed?

This has been answered here. From the fine print below it is possible.
From the Sprint 1 Year Free web page:

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/of...:1yearfree

Limited Time Offer. Credit approval req. Req. AutoPay, eBill, and port-in from postpaid carrier. 1 year free Unlimited Offer: Eligible device must be unlocked and compatible with Sprint SIM card and network. Reqs. SIM card purchase ($2.99 + $10 S&H + tax). SIM must be activated prior to port-in. No device upgrade allowed during first four months. All upgrades must be made online or remaining free months will be forfeited. Phone features and network experience may vary based on original device carrier. Excl. ports made between Sprint or related entities. Unlimited — Bring Your Phone Plan: Incl. unlimited domestic calling, texting & data & 10GB of high-speed Mobile Hotspot, VPN & P2P. Third-party content/downloads are add'l. charge. Sel. non-premium int'l. svc. incl. See sprint.com/globalroaming. Max. 5 lines. Plan not avail. for tablets/MBB devices. After 5/31/2019, plan will become Unlimited Freedom. Add a Line: Add a line at any time with port-in from postpaid carrier and Bring Your Own Eligible Phone up to the max. number of lines & get promotional pricing until 5/31/2019. AutoPay: $5/mo. discount req. continued AutoPay enrollment. Quality of Svc. (QoS): Customers who use more than 23GB of data during a billing cycle will be deprioritized during times & places where the Sprint network is constrained. See sprint.com/networkmanagement for details. Usage Limitations: To improve data experience for the majority of users, throughput may be limited, varied or reduced on the network. Sprint may terminate svc. if off-network roaming usage in a mo. exceeds: (1) 800 min. or a majority of min.; or (2) 100MB or a majority of KB. Prohibited network use rules apply—see sprint.com/termsandconditions. Other Terms: Offer/coverage not avail. everywhere or for all phones/networks. May not be combinable with other offers, including but not limited to AAA, AA, Credit Union, Premium International Experience, Port in credits, Visa Prepaid Reward Cards, Referral Rewards programs and IB/Lease promotions. Restrictions apply. See sprint.com for details. © 2018 Sprint.

As you can see above the key words are: At Any Time...... until 5/31/2019, BUT it MUST be done from a POSTPAID carrier.
This present free deal must also be done from a postpaid carrier but the Sprint reps have NOT been enforcing this term, and porting from almost any carrier has been allowed including VOIP carriers. At that future ANY TIME this postpaid term may or may not be enforced but at least it should be possible to add a line from a postpaid carrier.

All will have the original end of savings date you started with regardless unless you have a different SSN. Maybe that is what you mean?.
Best is to have a spouse or family member open a new acct. under their SSN to get a new end-of-savings date of May 2019.

Also do not call CS. You have to call 866-782-8777.

Do you give them AT&T as your current carrier, or the MVNO?
Always specify the exact mvno. That's who they have to send the port request to and has to approve it using their own procedures, not the carrier. Sprint has no problem with mvno's.

I have had them personally call Red Pocket ATT side while I was on the phone with bothto resolve a port issue. These are tied up with the MVNO account numbers etc. so they have to know who the MVNO is (they can find out from AT&T if they have to but it is better not to put roadblocks in their way).

I gave up my sero in oct and transferred to my wifes byod.
Decided to open lines in my name again and extend the deal for one more year. When i called yesterday, i found that my old account was still active. They finally closed the account and told me that i will have to goto store to verify my identity to open another account. I did that and when i called again, they said that i am eligible for only one line. I called the creit dept to see if they can approve for another line but they said i have to he customer for 13 months to be eligible for another line.
I have clean credit history.
Nobody else gets that. It is something unique to your situation. It is not obvious what factors caused it. Make sure you are even on the free plan. Normally you would not be eligible for 45 days after the prior account was finally closed. They may have put you on a paid plan for that reason. That's my guess.

Otherwise, all you can do is find out WHY this is happening to you and maybe ask them if you can appeal it. But it sounds to me as if somebody may be confused.

Is the $10 T-mobile prepaid SIM the best way to get a number that can be ported? Thanks
Yes, it's the best way to do it quickly, and you do NOT have to fund the T-mobile account before you port the # to Sprint.
Just make sure you have the T-mobile account # which will be the T-mobile prepaid phone # with a 1 in front, 1-555-555-1234, and the pin that you create.
If you have any problems just call T-mobile customer service and they'll give you these #s.

The port can be done immediately after you have the above account # and pin #.

There seems to be a rush to get on this free Sprint deal before it dies BUT keep in mind as it has been stated here multiple times, and a few posts above by Comintel who deserves a lot more reps, DO NOT TRY to do this deal online.
You MUST call the offer dedicated #, 1-866-782-8777, if you want to do this with NO problems.

Again, DO NOT, MUST NOT, CAN NOT try to do this deal online.
Just call the # above and have all your ducks in a row before you call.

As of last report they were saying 4/30 informally. They might or might not update it at any time.

So the consensus that there is high chance they will close new sign ups tomorrow? People had previously called deadlines...
