Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I need one more phone to activate a line with port in. I was hoping to use an old virgin mobile LG tribute 2 that was on ring plus some time back. The ting shows it can be used but sprint shows that "Sorry, please bring your phone to a Sprint Store so we can help." in byod check and "
Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device. Sign in to find this device on your account." on free year byod check. Any body has any idea if this can be made to work without going to store? Also, will this work in store or will it be waste of time? Thanks for help.
You need to have the phone pushed back to Sprint postpaid by getting LiterallyUnlimited to flip the ownership flag. Then it should go ok provided it as not sold as a Prepaid phone.

Search LiterallyUnlimited in this thread and contact him via reddit.

i was hoping that i would be able to swap the phone that i currently have for my free line with the verizon s7 edge, and then use that 'eligible for promotion' imei to add another line. but, i just tried to swap and for some reason, Sprint wouldn't take it and said that the verizon s7 edge is not found on their system, or something like that.
You cannot swap to an incompatible phone. There was a myth at one point that you could but it was never true.

"Not found in the system" means the IMEI is not listed in the Sprint database of compatible devices. In other words, it is incompatible and ineligible.

Very occasionally you can swap to a phone that should be eligible but is not being accepted for one reason or another, but that is extremely rare and not the case here.

But you can just port in the phone you really want anyway as an additional free line can't you? Just call 866-782-8777 to do so. You need to port in a number from somewhere/anywhere except Sprint mvno's.

There is no way period to add incompatible phones to the network at any time though, including via swap.

I signed up for this free plan last June, it will be a year two months from now.

If I do NOT cancel, how much do I need to pay monthly?

If I do cancel, assuming the free plan is still available in June, can I sign up again using a different compatible phone, or even the same phone?

First find out your last savings date. I think it may be July 31 from when you signed up. Do not assume it is June 30. It is on your Dashboard if you expand plan details.

You can also call Sprint Cancellations/Retentions Dept. and they will look up the exact date and will make you some special offers that they have already prepared for people on this plan. Do not call Telesales as they do not even know the dates correctly - they are just sales. Start with any general number and ask for Cancellations.

You cannot extend the offer without completely quitting Sprint for 45 days first OR opening another account under a different person's SSN (spouse or relative).

The phones can be ported in immediately with the same sims.

The offer will be over by then in my estimation and you would be better off doing it now if you have a
spouse or family member with an different SSN that can be used.

It has to be under their own SSN (not yours) and you must port in the numbers from scratch (no direct transfer).

at the end of a year of free service, your monthly bill will be $60 for the first line and $40 for the second line and $30 for line 3-5 plus all taxes and fees.

if you port out and port back in with someone else's SSN, you can keep same phone(s) and SIM (s) for another year for free plus tax and surcharge etc.

They are also offering credits of up to a couple of hundred dollars if you call Cancellations/Retentions to "negotiate" and there may be other offers as well for particular account configuration and history.

I have an unlocked moto E4 on a free plan that expires 7/31. I want to cancel my account, free up the phone, and open a new account under a different social by 4/30 in case the Sprint gravy train finally ends. What's the quickest way to cancel the account so my phone is freed up immediately??

I'm worried it will take too long if I try to port-out and I'm okay with losing my current number since I use google voice anyways. Is there any delay after canceling a line until the phone is freed up to be activated again and can it be done the same day?

Also, did everyone's bill go up this month or just me?? Noticed they jacked up the "Administrative Charge" from $1.99 to $2.50 starting this month. Pretty sneaky considering when I signed up for a year the terms clearly stated $1.99 and now it's changed on the website.

the fastest way is to port out the number, it will immediately release the phone.
another way is to call 8443823317.

Port-out is much faster than any other way. Other ways will take MUCH longer. If you want it fast, do it to a major carrier which is instant.

But the first account does not need to be closed anyway. You could swap the phone off and port it in to the new account immediately if you do not need that number .

The admin. charge increase topic has been beaten to death..

Well, now that Tmobile looks to be officially merging with Sprint and changing Sprint's name to Tmobile, we'll see if they ax the deal. I also wonder how this CDMA/GSM thing will work. Will Tmobile continue Sprint's CDMA network or force a switch to GSM?
