Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I just called 866-782-8777 to set up a new account. The agent mentioned insurance in the final step when reading the terms. I said I do not need the insurance. The agent said insurance is 44 cents/day and it is REQUIRED for this promotion. Anyone experienced this? Is it required?

How did you get around this? I just got declined because of the questions. I froze all my credit about a year ago, forgot, so I got error online, called, told me to unfreeze and call back. Did that. When I called back they asked me some more verification questions, although I had already answered some to unfreeze. I got declined, I know why, got a question wrong about a street I used to live in. Rep told me I could reapply in 60 days and offered no alternative.
You can actually call the credit department directly (may still be 1-800-639-6116) and try again right away according to posts. Ask for a supervisor if they say no. They will ask questions directly off your credit report so it will be easier to pass.

No it is not required but just do billing chat right away or call Customer Service and they will cancel it.

Do not call back TeleSales for this - they just do the initial sale and hard sell re insurance and anything else they can earn commission on, using time-proved dictions to convince you.

Actually it is only some reps/supervisors - I added a line today and was put under no pressure at all and it was not added.

your account number is 1+ your phone number

if you have more than one number than each number is a separate account number as in above. 1+ phone number

you should have get the PIN created as porting in T mobile but make sure the pin is correct for all of the phone numbers. for that
call 611
say manage my account
say reset voice mail password which require you to put in your pin first. If it passes your pin is correct other wise you have to go through same steps but says reset/change my pin step to reset your pin

I did this yesterday and as I port in T mobile the rep set my pin just for the first phone number and the second phone number's pin was not setup at all. So I get it fixed before port back in Sprint

if you want to play safe, add her today. I always use the phone from the list ( I have unlocked S8+, Nexus 6, Moto G4). But others said you can use any inactive Sprint phones.
ah, I just remembered I'd have to port her number out first since its currently on a Sprint MNVO. Obviously I cant get that done today. Frown

We signed up for 5 lines on this plan back in January. One of our phones has broken, and so I tried to call and if we could take the phone of a little used line and swap it for the phone that has broken. Sprint told me that I could not make any changes to the phones on my plan with this promotional plan and would not do it. I asked them what do I do if I can't fix this phone and need to get a replacement phone. I was told that if I needed to get a new phone that I would need to sign up for a new plan and they would not be able to change the phones on my free for a year plan. This is crazy!

You called the wrong department.

Just swap the new phone in on your dashboard (which will route to tech. support) or use tech support chat to swap it on.

Do not mention anything about broken phones, the free plan etc. Just swap the phone and do not ask any questions or give any reasons and you will be fine. This is well established and confirmed written Sprint policy for this offer but needs to be approached as a technical IMEI swap and not as an assisted upgrade.

Do not ask Sales' permission because anything you are doubtful about they will use as a heaven-sent opportunity to try to sell, sell, sell!

BUT you need to find your own phone and buy it without help from Sprint and Sprint dealers/agents. If you want help from Sprint Sales or dealers (even independent ones selling Sprint phones with plans), it will be as they described to you (at least until you are eligible for upgrades - probably not yet from what you said).

We do swaps all the time with narry a hitch.

You did it wrong. You need to do it via chat. Have them do a device swap.

Back in January I did a swap, and it worked fine, but I guess I'll try the chat and see if it will work.

I think he is trying a device swap but the device he is swapping in is active on his other line. Hopefully chat can perform that also.

Oh so what he wants is to swap two numbers!
Tech. support can do that too. I have done it.

Just say you want to swap two numbers.

I'm nervous at this point that no one will swap the phone because I have notes on my account. I tried to call again this afternoon and got the same answer and I know they had notes on my account talking about that I can't swap. Would a Sprint store be able to help as well?

It does not matter in the end much because they look it up anyway but I have had discussions with agents and they have told me they they do different validity checks up-front depending on whether the person says it is TMobile or TMobile Prepaid and may tell the customer to check if the account number is wrong for what they say. In fact several people have posted just that, that they were turned down and told to check with TMobile over this issue of TMobile versus TMobile Prepaid. One posted that Sprint insisted on a conference call with TMobile to resolve the apparent contradiction.

In my own case the first time they turned me down because I gave the wrong answer when they asked if the pin was the one I used to call in to TMobile customer service. Since it was 6 digits for TMobile Prepaid, they knew the answer should be NO but I said YES. It would have worked if they just submitted it but they were pre-screening to see if it all added up.

They are just trying to help users who seem likely to be confused and avoid failed ports. If you are super confident they may just let it go and assume what you are sayng is correct and go ahead and submit it and let the computers deal with it.
Do you guys think I should wait or should sign up today due to merger announcement which can stop this offer after April?
Or it will still be there in May?
